Description:
I've been putting this one off since 1998. Figured I'd get around to it eventually.

Lyrics:
Procrastination
Dave Placko © 1998

I've gotta picture of things I could achieve
When I get around to them, how happy I'll be
So, why do I keep lyin' to myself?
I know where the answer is but it's way up on the top shelf

So, I'll just sit around here and do nothin'
All day and all night long
You'd think That I'd get tired of hearin' myself
Playin' that same ol' song

Why should I do today? I'll do it some other day
That's what I always say and it don't get done
Maybe I'll change this or, maybe I won't
I'll worry 'bout it later. See what I mean?

So, I'll just sit around here and do nothin'
All day and all night long
You'd think that I'd get tired of hearin' myself
Playin' that same ol' song

I'm now at the end of this. Where do I go from here?
I don't really give a shit. I don't really care
I ain't gonna do a damn thing about it
'Cept sit her in front of the tube and wish it was done

So, I'll just sit around here and do nothin'
All day and all night long
You'd think that I'd get tired of hearin' myself
Playin' that same ol' song

Style jumper? You haven't been listening to most the stuff I've posted here :)
Yep. That's me doing everything 'cept the drums. My good friend John Clark is
on them. The vocal effect is just the same track doubled and the moved ahead
very slightly in the mix. Thanks for listening.

Hey - this could be my brother's theme song &mdash 06/19/06 - 09:12:30 PM
But he never gets around to doing much either. Good sound. I'm not a
rocker, but I do like this. Especially the lyrics.

Could be the theme song of a lot of people I know as well - including myself!
Thank you for taking a chance out of your normal zone to listen. Much
appreciated.

strange &mdash 06/20/06 - 10:25:00 AM
I must be getting old.. was pretty sure I had paid this song a visit earlier, but must have forgotten to write a line.

Well, I dig this one. The guitars sound really cool. Good crunchy sound and very well performed. Great drumming and bass playing as well. The singing has that good rock vibe to it. Good song!

I've missed out on your music bug. Will do something about that now. This one was a treat. You have a new fan:)

The art of procrastination needed a theme song, and you nailed it! I dig everything but I espicially love the twangy guitars. Plus, your kitty and it's... MySpace?

No MySpace &mdash 01/07/07 - 01:16:24 PM
I don't do MySpace. I think you're refering to the picture of the cat on the monitor? I was editing that pic in PhotoShop at the same time I was posting this song I think. :)

Anyhow, thanks for taking the time to listen and comment.

Sums it up nicely. &mdash 02/03/07 - 11:00:51 PM
This song pretty much sums up how I feel on a regular basis (especially doing laundry). I think this song has great universal appeal. Nice production on this song. I'm suprised being such the prcrastinator you are that you have posted as many songs as you have! Making music is definitely a lot more fun than doing chores. Thanks for sharing.

I love it!! &mdash 05/08/07 - 03:51:17 PM
I read the messages from an age ago and then decided to listen to the song again... I forgot to mention that I really love this one. I think I called you a style jumper because you sold me on the only song I've really fallen in love with here on MacJams - and you sounded so much like Michael Stipe that this one shocked me, I suppose..
Anyway, you'r brilliant no matter what style of music you put your habd to!!!

Rockin' steady with lighter up! &mdash 09/15/08 - 08:43:06 AM
Here's my slice: It's the 1970s and we're back in our parents' cars. J-Dubs' rusted VW bug, Paul the Limey's T-bird (with the white Landau roof). Mom's Buick Electra, the ice-doughnut wagon; Heinass' Chrysler Imperial... - drivin' fast and banging the dashboard until my palms bleed because I'm too drunk to notice... Lighters up!

"Hey, man, what do you wanna do?"
"I dunno, what'da YOU wanna do?"
"I dunno.... hey, you're bogartin' that thing!"
