This is just a little something inbetween...
As a friend of mine used to say: 'You can only have regrets on the things you DIDN'T do.' Well, I'm uploading this song with this philosophy in mind.

I've never sang a rock song before, so this is my very first attempt... I really digged DirtyWinston's track called 'PASTA' (http://www.macjams.com/song/21680), and considering the song being an 'open collaboration', I decided to give it a go.

Well anyway, I had lots of fun putting some vocals on DirtyWinston's track. He has heard the result and said he liked it. But I guess he's just a friendly and polite guy...

UPDATE: OK, OK, too many insisting and this poor man surrenders. Yes, I've typed out the lyrics. Happy now? :-)

I can dig this.

The pasta track from DirtyWinston is a great one. Great guitars, drums, bass and overall pro performed.

Your vocals on this is just perfect Moorlandt. Cool rockin' feel to it. Maybe you could post the lyrics?

A beuatiful mix between light edge Nephilim, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and
some weird sort of Electric Prunes or something... I sooo dig it!

And that funky swing on the guitar track adds to it soo much, a wonderful
cross genre blend to my ears!

Love your singing and smooth transitions. I do hear a bit of David Bowie type style but like yours much better. It just feels stronger.

You ought to sing more, bro', a lot more. I thought it was a little odd when you were harmonizing with yourself. Might want someone else to help on that but it was cool when you were doing the vocal unisons. Overall, the tune rocks but what I'm hearing mostly is a singer coming out of the cave. Welcome to the world!

I wanted a bunch more like this so that the gruuv would last for a long
trip -- Even though it has lots of cool and interesting change ups, I still
wanted many more versions of it - Love the Retro vibe hanging out in
this - Totally diggn' the vocals - Very hip - I REALLY like the guitar
work on this tune - Great structure - Very solid piece of work here

...are the vocals, of course...Good rock 'n roll voice...echoes of mid-
period Bowie...

AND the drumming and rhythm guitars, which work together really
well.

No excuses, though; gotta put the lyrics up.

Can really hear that spot that could use a touch of lead guitar. That
would be frosting on what's already a really tasty cake.

Yeah the lyrics... I must confess I did ths whole thing (lyrics writing + recording) in something less than 2,5 hours, so you can easily imagine that those lyrics are no top poetry. Well, maybe I'll post them one day when I'm real drunk or something :-)

Pretty cool song. Your voice is right for this. Just enough pathos
without being too overwrought. Maybe a little less reverb on your
voice. I have the sense of the chorused voices losing a bit of energy or
"buzz" at times -- drops in volume and gets a bit muffled in sections.
Not sure if I explained that right.

The instrumentation is very good. Sounds like the real deal.

I think I understand what you mean, Richard. But it was my intention to make
the chorus quite different to the verses. Maybe I should have put the vocal
volume a bit up in the chorus...

You're a closet rocker, Walter.

You're doing some amazing stuff lately, Dirty Winston's music is great
and you've come up with a really cool set of lyrics (though you won't
type them out, I listened closely. I love that "I wonder if we could share
a double room, a single life," and I really like the way you sang "favor."

Your voice sounds terrific, I love the production. Is it my imagination or
did you cut the reverb back on your voice some from what you usually
do? It sounds great.

I seriously dig this. I've listened three times already. I think I might
wear out this track.

I'm a bit confused about this reverb thing. If you point at 'Waiting again', there was no reverb used at all. Maybe it sounded that way, I don't know...

you've got such a fabulous vocal approach, that it may just be possible
you can sing along to just about anything! seriously!

there's not much more i can add that hasn't been said, except that
musically, this is a fairly simple sounding, yet very complex piece.
playng along with it would be tremendously difficult. adding vocals
would seem near to impossible.

i can't express how impressed i am with this. absolutely terrific job!

You've got an unusual but very effective rock voice - well done to you, I'd
have never have guessed that it was your first rock vocal. Great playing
and arrangement - I particularly like the harmonies. This is one of those
tracks that sounds even better when listened to again (and again).

hear you. It's a great track, and the lyrics seem very thought-provoking

Of course your voice is amazing when you do the jazzy stuff, but I'd like to hear you do more rock songs. Your voice reminds me of two rock bands you should check out if you haven't heard them: HIM and Type O Negative.
