Soothing but Involving Soundbed &mdash 06/20/06 - 08:50:33 AM
Especially like the soft, pulsing rhythm and little synth accents you add sporadically. And when you listen carefully there are quite a few nice vocals, soundeffects and other musical elements adding dimension to the soundscape (which I wouldn't mind if they were accentuated even more!). For some reason there is a lot of energy coming across, unlike many somewhat generic synth ambient tracks, this one really feels alive and breathing. Would lend itself wonderfully to any kind of interpretation, vocal or musical, but is just beautiful the way it is too. Very enjoyable!

I was just gonna take this down because I have no tags on it, but here you left
me a wonderful comment... so I guess itll have to stay! lol...

This was my first attempt at vocals and had a lot of fun creating them.

I wa strying to create an atmosphere of... working zen? I think... like when a
monk will give practitioners hits on the back during meditation so they dont
sleep but stay centered. It feels like that kind of weaving in and out of
consciousness to me.

So glad you enjoyed it, and thank you so very much for your expressive
comment. I love comments that go in depth like yours.

Im blushing furiously right now.. dont even know what to say. Some of the other
songs on the CD are really thick and deep and very long (two 10min + ). They
may help to take you in a little further even. My wife and i got lost going to a
friend house that we had been to dozens of times before but the cd was playing
and we just kept passing it by! lol

Thank you so much for your uplifting comments, they are so very appreciated
and encouraging.

I wish I could just give everyone a free copy of the CD, lol... it would please me
no end!

That's a great low-pass filter you have there! &mdash 06/26/06 - 04:37:57 PM
No wait, you do that with your mouth, right?

Kidding.

This is very subtle, and quite enjoyable. I liked it that kept that other
sounds so in the background. It adds to the effect, but never takes over. I
was sort of afraid of a booming drums beat coming in halfway the track.

Btw, check out my latest track for another ethnic instrument. I'm afraid
I've taken somewhat larger liberties.

I heard no liberties only extremely creative endeavors! Ill have to get back and
listen to the rest of your backlog!

After playing around drum circles for so many years there was no way I was
gonna let drums pound out the didge on my recordings! lol...

Thanks much for finding me and commenting! Its always so appreciated.

I like the didge front and center, as you have it here. &mdash 07/04/06 - 01:24:29 AM
I also like the other sounds you have backing you. it's kind of like being
centered in your playing - you're aware that there's other stuff happening
in the background, but the other stuff is so 'far away' from your focus,
that it just keeps receding. I liked the space and the energy, too. Being
used to classical training, i tend to listen for tuning, dynamics, etc. This
was good to just get to listen for sound without thinking about the
parameters that I've gotten used to bringing along with me. Just great.

Awww Kristy.. thank you as always. It means so much to me to read
comments like yours.

It is kind of like that when I play as well... everything just seems to recede
until its there again only to recede once more. The loss of awareness but
keeping a groove in the pocket is what I strive for when playing live. So your
comment hit home with me and delivered up a great warm fuzzy:)

Oh did you know I released a CD? http://thelostrecords.com/didge-ache-

lol... sorry just had to let you know since you have given me so many great
comments!

loved your latest as well.

I need more! &mdash 01/25/07 - 03:45:17 PM
I started meditating a while back with a CD called "Dreamings" by: Will Seachnasaigh. Didgeridoo is the only meditative instrument for me. Puts my brain waves right where they need to be. This is no exception. Thank you for sharing.
