Description
Seems like all we are doing is filling up our cans these days:)

This piece is a traditional classical piece from quite a while ago. The composer is Jacques Offenbach 1819-1880.

Fantastic!
Super stuff there Mr. Bill! When I first saw the title I thought it might be
the music that they danced the French can can dance to. I'm not
familiar with this composer or piece but I am now and really like it. Do
you know anymore of his pieces? Lovely light touch on the double
stops. The guitar again is allowed to ring out beautifully, showing us
it's great tone. Another fine song from the man and fingers that trip
the light fantastic!

Ah!
Wow! I had to listen a couple of times to figure out which Offenbach tune
this was, and then it hit me (Can-Can from "Orpheus in the Underworld").
Very original treatment! Your approach is very original, putting your own
laid-back, quasi-Doc Watson treatment on what originally was a manic,
high-stepping dance tune, designed to show off lady's petticoats.

Excellent job, and very inventive!

can you do the can can?
Sure you can. Nice to hear this one in a more laid-back style than what it usually is performed like. I can like this one:)

Maybe we should start asking for classical favorites that you could do for us...

Wood and steel
Your guitar pieces are always of such consistent quality it is difficult to
find new things to say about them....this is typically assured and
evocative. Reminiscent of some John Fahey tracks I guess. Great acoustic
guitar sound...wish I could capture the sound of an acoustic so well!
Thanks for sharing it

Wood and steel
Thanks Stevel, it is fun to record them, each one is always challenging. Trying
to get the mics the right way. I have to be careful when recording the steel
string cause the sound needs to be quite warm to get the most out of the steel
strings especially at the 1st and 2nd strings.

pristine
great Bill... this sounds wonderful... aside from the fact that you play
flawlessly, this has to be the benchmark for how an acoustic guitar
should sound... one guitar completely filling the stereo image and
tonal spectrum, completely full, and not boomy at any frequency

Like Steve said
Like Steve said Bill, you produce so much music of such consitently
high quality that it's becoming more and more difficult to find new
things to say. This is excellent, as usual.

Think I'll kick back and listen for a while
rather than kicking up my legs in a can-can.

Hm. I thought I knew how that can-can piece by Offenbach went, but I
don't hear it in this one. I'll just say that this is, as usually, a wonderful
and lovely piece of playing by you.

Btw, the other most famous piece by Offenbach is his Barcarolle. Quite a
gentle melody. Look it up and see what you can do with it.
