This tune is a crazy, silly, desperate love song that actually worked! Yep... she came back... we got married and now have two beautiful boys. The strange thing about this recording is how its grown on me. At first I didn't like the vocals since I was fighting a cold when I recorded it. I was going to re-record them but now I kinda like how they sound... they sound a little bit desperate, which to me fits the song nicely. Ah... I might still re-record them anyway!!! Thanks to Russ Wills for guitaring around on this one.

The Guitar track sounds nice but I didn't think the melody
matched.

The vocals on this sound pretty good to me - they are well
recorded - though I guess maybe they strain once or
twice. I`m impressed though - and you`re right - they fit
the song well.

I like the song too. Lively and unsentimental - packs the
lyrics in that layer of salt that songs like this need to be at
their most effective.

But the happy ending that resulted is surely more
welcome praise than anything we can give!!! I`m glad
it worked!

I love your story, but for some reason (oh, I know the reason, my company hasn't upgraded to OSX yet and neither have I grrrrrrrrr) I can't play your file format.

Not having heard the vocal, I can give you my own two cents. This song obviously means a lot to you and represents an important moment in your life. Everything about it is that moment, and I'm willing to bet that once you change it, it will lose that spark that makes it special to you.

I have this one song on my soundclick page called "Won't Be Long" that I wrote and recorded the day my mother died. Technically it has lots of problems, but every time I try to re-record it, the subsequent track pales in comparison -- at least in my opinion.

So keep this the way it is, and maybe I'll get to listen to it one day!

Hey Paul - thanks for your comments... The file is in AAC format. I know that quicktime can read them (even on a PC!). Do you have the latest version for OS 9?

Wow, this is great. The other songs you posted were
great, too! But this gives me a new perspective on your
abilities. This is closer to home. Bravo! Nice production,

Excellent song. Kudos. Nice combination of stage and
pop sounds, and I love the energy of the rhythm
acoustics. (The only thing I'd change is the minor run
on the piano before the middle solo section. I figure the
ethnic solo mandolin is a personal thing and I love
the mandolin anyway so I'd keep that in). When my
daughter asked me what love is, I said, "It's a conversion.
A fundamental change of perspective." (I purposefully
used big words to keep it mysterious.) "And your only
true desire: wanting forever with your love, and only being
able to see a future like that." Thanks for this sweet song
and story. And reminder.

I truly enjoyed all the guitar/mandolin work. You weave a
nice fretwork (pun intended!) filigree design to accompany
the (only faintly) nasal vocals. They're fine, by the way.

GOOD lyrics. Very upbeat music which matches the word. I
like the dove-tailing, then harmonizing vocals at the end.

Very nice song!

Full of life, desperate love, great guitar and mandolin
mix, and wonderful nasal vocals that I hope to aspire
too ;-)
I like the unpolished tone of the song, not finsihed
yet, hoping for her to come back. And since she did,
still hoping to make it even better.
