Beautiful &mdash 06/22/06 - 06:29:33 PM
Jon, this is beautiful! Your first chord had an open, Copeland-ish feel to
it, and it proceeds nicely from there. You score extremely well for
orchestra; I would guess from this that you have had some experience do
this?
Nice light touch; no over-scoring.
Interesting mood changes, presumably to follow the story you have for
this (?). I wished it had gone on longer.
You are very talented, and this is excellent work! [ Reply to This ]
Wow.. &mdash 06/22/06 - 06:34:07 PM
That was....pretty quick. I'm blushing actually. I really needed that CC. [ Reply to This ]
Now I'm Composed Mr Clark &mdash 06/22/06 - 06:48:34 PM
I'm trying to write a story music first. I WAS taught cello a long time ago
but apart from that... I just build and then strip. GB is a fantastic piece of
kit for that and the orchestral samples of JP4 have opened me up like a
spam tin. Your comments are as always deeply appreciated. Salut! [ Reply to This ]
Now I'm Composed Mr Clark &mdash 07/07/06 - 12:33:56 PM
Just came back for another listen, and noticed your replies--I hadn't seen them
'till just now. All I can say is this is REALLY impressive scoring for anyone, let
alone someone who apparently never studied orchestration! WOW!
This piece is still beautiful, btw, and I hope you're working on more.
Keep up the fine work.
Cheers, Clark

Truly beautiful music, scratch. You really drew me in with this. The rain is
such a nice touch, too..... [ Reply to This ]

rain? bells? yikes! &mdash 07/11/06 - 04:56:07 PM
i'm aspiring to write something as good as this. the mood is comforting,
yet not quite settling. i have a tendancy to like rain fx, so you got me
there. (i guess rain is way over used - but so what?) and then bells. yikes,
my second favorite effect! so, i'm probably not qualified to comment, but i
like it a lot anyway! this is excellent. [ Reply to This ]

...and I aspire to CC's level...isn't that what it's all about? The simple joy of
composing and sharing. Ring... Dem... Bells!! [ Reply to This ]
Charming and haunting. &mdash 07/12/06 - 08:40:17 AM
Extremely soothing and tastefully arranged. I agree with composerclark in all the good things he has to say about this piece. Surprisingly full, mature with real musical depth. The instruments are calibrated beautifully and the sound effects help the imagination without being imposing. Especially like the simplicity and open chord structure as it allows you to dive right into it, leaving space for you own imagination. I wouldn't have minded if you had continued within that beautiful atmosphere you've created and added a few more minutes of classical heaven to dwell in! Glad I found this, truly beautiful...keep exploring! [ Reply to This ]
Charming and haunting. &mdash 07/12/06 - 03:13:56 PM
Well Parichayaka you picked two of my favourite words. Charm casts a spell that
draws you in so you've given me a huge one there. Haunting suggests memory?
That's the perfect compliment. Salut! [ Reply to This ]

Just came back for another listen, and I was captivated by the beauty and
grace once again.

Lovely, evocative music &mdash 10/05/06 - 09:49:05 PM
Jon, this is really, really nice. It certainly creates a unique, haunting mood,
one that resonates in me. I like the orchestration decisions you made. The
overall flow of the arrangement is very effective. The impact is subtle and
powerful at the same time.
If I were in your studio with you while you composed this beautiful piece, I
would have offered one suggestion: breath with the players while you play
their parts in such a way that some natural very short breaks at the end of
phrases are created. Regardless, this is wonderful music you've created. [ Reply to This ]
Yep &mdash 10/06/06 - 07:39:04 PM
you're right of course. Breath........(sigh)......let them eat breath.........spot on. [ Reply to This ]
If I may &mdash 10/06/06 - 07:55:36 PM
Being an American, I hesitate to use this phrase, because it's yours, not ours,
but: What's spot on here is the composition.
I'll soon be listening to the rest of your music, as you obviously have talent.
