Description:
This is an update, remix of of a previously posted tune that Tiler and I did.

Dadai got bored one night . . . :)

Lyrics:
Where?

There are no foundations for castles in the sky
White and black so slowly go to grey
The non-existent factions held to their corrupted plans
For the forming of them took more than a day.
There is no cause of merit now the troops have been withdrawn
And where will you go now that you're gone?

The word went out to all those who wear flowers in their hair
A spirit knew there was a better way
If the bodies in the jungle now could grant an interview
Is Hare Krishna likely what they'd say?
The fairies now have left us and they've buried Oberon
And where will you go now that you're gone?

The thought-provoking rhetoric so common in the vogue
Was induced by matter foreign to the brain
What promised tranquil visions of the inner mounting flame
Turned more like a who's who of the insane
We laid the wreaths and flowers beneath the Pentagon
And where will you go now that you're gone?

Deafness cursed the heroes of the newly won regime
And some they clutched the blindness to their hearts
Once safely placed in power they forgot about
The madness we endured to reach the present state of arts
There's little comfort knowing things are darkest 'fore the dawn
And where will you go now that you're gone?

White dove hasn't earned her promised slumber in the sand
School is once again a place to learn
Corruption, coups and crisisees headline the morning news
And on Main Street the cards no longer burn
It's as if the major pieces have been taken by a pawn
And where will you go now that you're gone?

Durability and comfort have naturally given way
To couturiers that smell of sweet cologne
It might even be a blessing that my albums refuse to play
On that strange sophisticated gramophone
And the common people dance, fallen warriors look on
And where will you go now that you're gone?

Classic &mdash 06/24/06 - 10:02:45 AM
The entire construction, from lyrics to message to arrangement to
performance, all are wonderfully classic folk in all the right ways. And how
often does some use "couturiers" in a song? (I love the def: "a fashion
designer who manufactures and sells clothes that have been tailored to a
client's specific requirements and measurements.") I especially like the
light harmonies panned like angels behind each ear. So good.

Ty Tobin

lol, bin wracking my brain to come up with another tune with couturier in it
but, you're right, it don't come up often :)

The harmonies you refer to are the parts that Dadai came up with late one
night when the basketball playoffs were on an off-day.

cheers

Mixing it up &mdash 06/24/06 - 01:24:49 PM
I'm glad you men came out to play again. Nice gathering of sentiment.
This mix is pretty well balanced and the synchrony is much better than
the original version. Wisdom from the gravel pit. Listen up!
