Description:
Slow traveling and unraveling. Its about change.

Lyrics:
tumble weeds roll
roll on the ranges
quick as a blink
the cactus flower shrinks
the colors all rearrange
the canyon it sinks
the river cuts
through the stone
everything changes

just as sure
as night follows day
all the kings castles crumble to clay
and I’ll pray
our dreams don’t get swept away
its only as certain as the price that we pay
everything changes

you rolled a mile of smoke for a stranger
drove tanker trucks full of whiskey and song
woke up gray
in an old chevrolet
looked outside
and the tumble weeds were gone

you had to roll
on wheels that were worn
you looked in the book
but the pages were torn
you could have sworn
you were cool but now your a fool
and the object of scorn
everything changes

just as sure as night follows day
and all the kings castles crumble to clay
and I’ll pray our dreams don’t get swept away
its only as certain as the price that we pay
everything changes

Thanks man, A few months back I saw Wilco on "Austin City Limits". The lead
singer said something I found interesting. He said that over half of a musical
experience is provided by the listener. I think with my music the listener better
provide ninety five percent. Im glad I was able to provide the five percent that
allowed you to feel it. Thanks again for taking the time to comment. Regards

thoughts from the bull... &mdash 06/24/06 - 07:49:04 PM
first off, thank you for commenting on my work. very kind. it led me to
this song, which i may never have heard otherwise! thanks!!

second, from the tip of the lyrics to the easy-styled vocal delivery, this
is simply a brilliant piece of music. it only played for about thirty
seconds before i hit the download button.

there's not much to say or crit about here... it's one of those pieces
that you come across and think, "wow. this is one of those perfect
songs i can just hear myself driving along to."

i'm looking forward to hearing this one with the windows down.
seriously!

thank you for the words, but moreso for the great music! peace!

oops, my error - it wasn't you that left comments for me, but rather
another artist who linked to your music. sorry about that! i've listened
to three of your tracks and i'm really digging into your music! i
consider it a "lucky" mistake in finding your work! peace!

You had me going there. I thought that I was posting comments in a drunken
stupor....again. Its cool to think someone would drive down the road and listen
to this song. I really appreciate your positive and bracing words. Im glad that
you took a wrong turn back there somewhere. Regards

great lyrics . . . &mdash 11/13/06 - 09:05:49 AM
. . .evocative and full of familiar yet originally used imagery. I really like the piano throughout. I really like your vocal delivery and the place they fall in the mix. Good work. Nice addition of the electric guitar at the end - I can almost hear a large choir singing the last chorus.

i think &mdash 05/18/07 - 07:49:42 PM
that this is my favorite song of yours so far ( as i work my way through all of them). this is a perect song: melody, vibe, vocals, instrumentation, recording, performance. it's all great; my only complaint is that you only have a handful of songs up for us to hear. really impressed.

Well &mdash 05/21/07 - 12:24:58 PM
I have plenty of poorly performed and poorly produced songs, but I doubted people would care to tolerate them. My catch 22 is that if I practice a song enough to perform it tight, I get bored and If I'm stale whats the point. I thought this one of my better songs so I made an effort. thanks for the comments
Regards

Says a lot, and very well I might add &mdash 08/21/07 - 06:51:22 PM
This song surprised me. Before listening to it I half heartedly read through the lyrics and thought, "this is gonna be lame".

Man was I wrong. When you listen to the meter and rhyme of the lyrics as delivered, you get it. They makes complete sense and have a real depth of feeling and meaning that I didn't get when I read through them.

The music fits perfectly and the mix is wonderful. That'll teach me to be so egotistical.

This is a really beautiful song and I love it
