Description:
Hello!
We have done it again. Please enjoy rschletty's singing and our music.
Lyrics:
Leaving Flesh
Leaving flesh gates the soul,
like a bird that soars with grace,
like a worm that leaves the hole,
taken to an extraordinary place.
Give your all until the dawn.
Take what little stuff you need.
Smile until the shades are drawn,
knowing well that you've planted the seed.
Gift of knowing, gift of feeling.
Golden orb, precious sight.
Life's abrasions the sun is healing
for those who simply step out into the light.
What is money? What is power?
Lust and vengeance, blood and bile?
Selfless motives don't devour.
Look for treasure in a neighbor's smile.

It is up to us to thank you, Richard. Without your voice it would not be half as
good as it is... [ Reply to This ]

Everything sounds clear and believable.. we could be sitting in the
room with you... very intament... is the piano a sample... simple and
effective sound scape, perfect environment for the song... Richard your
word pictures are wonderful, the 2nd verse is my fav...
"Give your all until the dawn.
Take what little stuff you need.
Smile until the shades are drawn"
and your voice is strong, and expresive... you're obviously not a
beginner... great work [ Reply to This ]

Yes... &mdash 06/24/06 - 02:53:55 PM
Beautifully written, played and sung... Such good advice, too; getting
back to what is really important- giving instead of taking, soaring
above the rat race of amassing treasures on Earth. Very nice, guys! [ Reply to This ]

Everything at once &mdash 06/24/06 - 04:22:53 PM
Your voice is just right on this, Richard. Simple, forceful, honest,
believing, certain, searching, wanting, satisfied. All at once. Well done.
And the violin is so nice. Wonderful track. [ Reply to This ]

Absolutely love the Lyrics!
I always like piano, which is very good intro and you have a beautiful voice too.
The song sounds too church-like for my taste but it's still very good. [ Reply to This ]
Lyrics &mdash 06/24/06 - 07:03:38 PM
Thanks for your words, Annalia. Yes, church-like. I've been singing in church
a helluva lot longer than I've been singing in cafés and bars.

Simply Beautiful! &mdash 06/24/06 - 09:50:43 PM
Great song Richard....The feeling really comes through on your vocals and
Karl and Hendrick did a great job too...Clarity and presence are the
keywords for this song...with a message we all know but need to be
continually reminded of....Bravo, a definite download for me...thank you,

You already know... &mdash 06/24/06 - 10:20:55 PM
that I like this... wonderfuf collaboration. Your melody line is superb,
as are your lyrics. Very choice. You are in a zone... and it certainly
helps to have such a beautiful music arrangement as a backdrop. So
kudos to Steiner and Anselm. A great team.

How could you have known I was in the zone? Yes, the overhead fluorescent
lights were off and it was a quiet Friday pre-dawn, unfettered by stuff.

Simply great &mdash 06/25/06 - 09:21:54 AM
I really enjoy when the piano comes in. I'm a sucker for piano. Do I
hear some sort of organ in the background? I liked that. Maybe bring
that up a tad further in the mix? The strings are beautiful and finish the
song nicely. Your voice is what carries this tune though, congrats [ Reply to This ]

Thanks, BranDaMan. Good suggestion on the instrumentation.

Nice going ! Enjoyed the guitar fingerpicking. Wish you would be more
discriptive in the backround sounds like what type of guitar?
Very enjoyable to listen to.

Thanx, tiler. Such a nice feedback from YOU...normally I play Hanika and Takamine guitars. In this case I used a Yamaha CGX117CCA. It was recorded by two Rode NT-5 mics. I use a dbx 386 pre-amp in general. Hope this helps... [ Reply to This ]
Conviction &mdash 06/27/06 - 06:52:12 AM
There is something about the strong conviction of the performers that always shines through. And this piece is full of conviction. From the imagery of the lyrics, to the solidity of the music. And most of all the conviction in Richards vocals.
Resonant and heart-warming. [ Reply to This ]

Heart felt vocal &mdash 07/06/06 - 02:28:18 AM
Upon a rich musical bed lay a very heart felt vocal. Nicely executed.
While Ik dinged it on some minor points like track noise, and guitar gain.
It seemed to me tthat it balanced well as more instrumentation fell in. So
I shrug my shoulders and say well done. [ Reply to This ]
