Sutra of Buddhism

Description
This song is a collaboration with the sutra of the Buddhism.
The temple where Buddhist scriptures are recited"Houjunzan-Jyodoji"
Buddhist temple of the Soto sect in Nagoya City in Japan.
The priest of a buddhist temple is Nakamura Kosho.
For 500 years or more from now ago.
Great priest founds it.
It is the 15th generation now.
This time, It was approved for me to sub-priest of a buddhist temple's Nakamura Kasyu-sama.
I wish to be expressing my gratitude.
I give a reward sincerely.
Thank you very much.

This sutra is "Han-niya-Shin-Gyo".
"Han-niya-Shin-Gyo" is sutra of the greater vehicle Buddhism.
"Han-niya-Shin-Gyo" is the shortest Sutra.
A short sutra of only 262 characters.

It concisely explains of the "Emptiness".
Thought of Buddhism profundity.
It concisely explains religious practice.
Buddhist scriptures explain"Emptiness" .
It is not a meaning (there is not either emptiness).
Everything contains the philosophical concept "There is no fixed substance".
The object seen all eyes doesn't have the one that doesn't change
through all eternity.

"Han-niya-Shin-Gyo" is preached in a lot of buddhist temples while exceeding the sect.
It is a very general sutra.
A lot of Japanese do "Sha-kyo".
"Sha-kyo" to copy and to write the character of the sutra.
It writes with the brush.
Peaceful visits to the mind.

This song is uniting of jazz and the sutra.
Peculiar groove sense of preaching sutra.
I was able to play completely without the sense of incompatibility.

I will tell the feeling of thankfulness to "Houjunzan-Jyodoji" -sama repeatedly at the end.

a very natural combination
Chanting is fascinatiing Tadashi - and the way you have combined it
with your wonderful bass, drums, guitar and keys is really interesting.
It doesn't sound at all forced - a very natural combination (which is
unexpected). You never cease to amaze and stimulate the senses
Tadashi.
Thank you,
Neil

Hello,Neil
Thank you for commenting to my song.
When listening to this sutra, I was deeply very moved.
Melodious voice.
Soft rhythm.
There were all elements with a beautiful music.

I wanted to get acknowledgment immediately.
I sent Nakamura Kasyu-sama mail.
Nakamura Kasyu-sama was acknowledged.
I became very glad.

I was able to unite with music very naturally.
I wish to express my gratitude for your listening.

!
The concept is very cool. It is a strange feel in the way that the
chanting and jazz intertwine and separate -- always changing, having
no inherent characteristics, empty! I think I need to listen to it again,
but this song has a very cool feel to it. It is definitely striking to the ear
and different from other music, in a good, interesting way.

Thanks for posting this, Tadashi!

A wonderful piece. I would imagine a degree of difficulty in playing with
the chanting. This is to say, you have one beat that repeats. This, of
course, is a double edged sword. For it either limits completely or allows
one complete freedom. Freedom is predominate throughout this song. I
always enjoy when something ancient merges with the modern to
construct the future. Wonderful.

Thelonious P,
Thank you for the comment from Boulder, CO.
I listened to this statement, and came to like it at once.
I felt the groove sense.
The voice is a peculiar music scale.
All elements necessary for music were filled in this statement.

I disregarded BPM.
The session was done by a groove sense each other.
I was possible to play naturally extremely.

Well, Tadashi...
...when you attain satori or kensho you will have to give me one word
of wisdom to help me on my way...

Is this not the Heart Sutra?

"Form not different from emptiness,
Emptiness not different from form.."

I think this is one in which the experience of creating this music was
natural and organic for you, and anything I would say has nothing to
do with your experience of creating it.

I am listening in a somewhat noisy place right now, but I look forward
to hearing the clarity of the bells and the chanting when I can listen
with headphones. Even in this imperfect listening, you seem to have
chosen "bell-like" tones on your instruments, which seems well suited
to the context.

Thank you for another musical gift.

Ed

Well, Tadashi...
I wish to express my gratitude for listening in babel.
Thank you very much.

Yes. You are correct.
This is exactly "Heart Sutra".
However, I did not know how to express English.
I retrieved "Heart Sutra" by the Internet, and learnt now.
"Heart Sutra"is"Han-niya-Shin-Gyo"
"Han-niya-Shin-Gyo"is Japanese names.

The sound of the bell is not me.
The priest who is chanting sutra is sounding the sound of the bell.
This is "Keisu".
Buddhist altar fittings sounded when sutra is chanted. Chanting sutra starts
from this.
When the delimitation is directed, it is used.
Shape of Japanese teacup, made of copper.

I am Drums, bass, electric piano,
and guitar.
Priests are sounding all other sounds.

I played only by the groove sense.
There was no sense of incompatibility at all though BPM was different.
This chanting sutra is really beautiful.
The soul of study and the prayer of every day causes beauty.
I am very happy to be able to play to this wonderful chanting sutra.

Reminds Me that John McLaughlin recently played for the Dali Lama in Belgium.
I find the bass and gong in this one most inviting and don't find the mix
of jazz and chanting inspiring, similar to John Coltrane.

Yo, Tadashi-san,

Don't you dare visit Littleton without visiting me... and if there's the guitar jam, I
want to be invited to at LEAST listen, and maybe record it...

Ramen and pasta. Maybe I had better be in charge of the food...

Ah...i consented.

If it becomes so,
I bring green tea from Japan.
Green tea can be roasted to Fran with you.

Your song.
"Electric Improv in B minor"
Let's play this song by three people.

This sounds excellent to me, Tadashi. I think we can persuade Fran to do a little
tea roasting with us...

And "Electric Improv" has about three chords, so I can probably keep up with
you two on that one...

I think the Bee Gees already did the "lights in Massachusetts" song...

Just let me know when you're arriving...
