Description:
The first song in my effort to write a song a day during the summer. This one took two days. Whoops.

Starts with a cheezy line, but plays it literally. I had fun.

All me except for the drums. When I get a second mic I will do the drums myself.

Lyrics:
you have fallen from a star
you have fallen very far
you have fallen like a stone
through space through sky you fell all alone

and I was here on earth you see
and I was hoping I would be
the one to catch you when you fell
I gotcha, I gotcha, I missed ya hell

my star girl’s in a coma
and I’m still all alona
my star girl’s in a coma
she’s never comin home-a
my star girl’s in a coma
with no unbroken bone-a
why couldn’t I have really big forearms

you don’t breathe our earthen air
you don’t drink our earthen water
you are cold you’re from a star
it’s a lot hotter in a star

I’m sorry I gave you mouth to mouth
I’m sorry I tried to make you drink
I’m sorry, I turned on the a/c
you choked you gasped I didn’t know better

my star girl’s in a coma
and I’m still all alona
my star girl’s in a coma
she’s never comin home-a
my star girl’s in a coma
with no unbroken bone-a

but you’re alien lips lips lips lips lips
your alien eyes eyes eyes eyes
and your alien shoulders (x4)
are mostly all there and I kissed them I kissed them

my star girl’s in a coma
and I’m still all alona
my star girl’s in a coma
she’s never comin home-a
my star girl’s in a coma
with no unbroken bone-a
I’ve kissed girls in comas before
But somehow you keep asking for more

A song a day?!? I am gonna hold you to that!

What can I say about this one... it is so geeky and the lyrics are awkward and the whole thing is just a big joke and... well, how can I NOT love it?

Unique and hilarious. I had to listen to this one a few times to fully comprehend it... (I rarely listen to lyrics on the first listen, you see) but you keep me coming back for more. Music is... like, your amusement park... and I am totally with you for the ride. Actually, I wanna sleep on a bench in the amusement park. You know, stay there all the time. In fact, can I be one of the carnies? I don't even need to shower.

One more thing. I have a question... when you say "lips lips lips lips lips", does that mean your stargirl has five lips?

Five lips....we can dream. Errr...unless those five sets of lips can all talk. One
is more than enough most of the time.

You describe perfectly what music is to me with your amusement park
analogy--I couldn't have put it better myself. My music makes some people
grin ear-to-ear and causes some people to barf. I hope that in your analogy
that it has that carnival smell: deep-fried goodness and dirty people.

I will do my best to write a song a day this summer. Just that I won't be able
to record or post a song a day or anything like that. Some of our summer
plans put us well out of reach of a mac --Gasp!-- But I do have some cool
projects coming to fruition soon.

Oh, and today I went to a guitar workshop with Ken Hamm . It was very cool and so I suspect I
will be writing some fingerpicking/roots/blues music as well this summer.
Anyways, that's what's up.

Thanks so much for your comments, Stun. I am forever humbled that you
hold my work in such regard.

Write a song about the State-Fair from the carney perspective. Really loved the story here. You really got me with the forearm line:). good job and good luck; look forward to hearing more.

Ha, I'll admit that it's familiar. It wasn't a conscious effort though. It was my
wife who first made the comparison and then I said "yeah, it does sound
similar."
However, I did add the cowbell AFTER she mentioned it: I think just to bug her a
bit. "You think it sounds like QotSA? NOW it sounds like QotSA."

I'm looking forward to hearing more. That's quite an ambitious goal
you've set.

Just to clarify (and be a bit realistic) I am going to try and write a song every day,
but not necessarily record and post a song every day. So far so good--3 days
and 3 songs penned. I hope to get about a third onto MJ. That would be great.

Thanks for commenting!

This is the goofiest tune I've heard in ages. That chorus is catchy as hell, probably because of that neat raised note for "girl" in the first line.

You are a little disturbed aren't you?

Very fun!
