Fun (153)sexy (32)pop (448)bumble bee (2)Sunday (8)lazy (9)
Description:
I'm again trying something new. This is a pure pop song. My first one. I hope it sounds as sexy, fun and mindless as I intended it to be.

Playing around with Logic Pro synths.

All feedback welcome.

Lyrics:
Let's be as frivolous as a pop song
Be dangerous and leave the lights on
It’s marvelous and together we belong
We’ll be scandalous and do it all day long

Wanna have a throw-away kind of romance
Take a rainy day sort of silly chance
Let’s be risqué and dance an erotic dance
Now lead me astray with your exotic glance

Chorus:
Crazy, crazy, let's go crazy
On this lazy, hazy Sunday afternoon

Please me, squeeze me, just don't tease me
On this breezy, sleazy Sunday afternoon

Feeling as manic as a bumble bee
Wanting to frolic until the hour is wee
No need to panic, no one can see
This psychedelic show between you and me

I feel the power when lust is king
This is the hour for a summer fling
You are the flower and I have the sting
As desires tower over everything

Chorus repeat

Good on ya, sir &mdash 07/01/06 - 11:23:04 PM
How'd you shift things up like that - This is niccccce, CC - I don't know why I'm surprised at how well you pulled this off, but this IS meant to be more of compliment - Although, it still has a broadway-esk bend to it. I could see this supporting a stage act - You've got lots of cool stuff going on in this. I don't know if this is a bad question to ask in public, but I've been wanting to ask it of everyone, almost - How long does it take to put something like this together - It's very cool - Very well done. It's crazy, I say...

Thanks Dion

Hey, Dion. I'm glad you came by for a listen. The fun thing about GB and Logic and all this computer assisted music (mayhem) making is the chance to keep experimenting and pushing personal comfort zones. I had a ball doing this. And it's still not quite done. I'm still hearing things I'd like to tweak. But I wanted to post it here to get feedback and suggestions as well.

In creating something like this: The lyrics always come first for me. Then the melody. And the lyrics get changed here and there as I go along. And I lay down the tracks, building the song. In terms of production, I've been working on this for about a week. And most of yesterday was spent finalizing everything and mixing.

There are more experiments in my musical lab brewing. So stay tuned.

Cheers.

Nice bumblebee synth. Oh wow, the break is really different - I wasn't
expecting that. :) I very much like the collection of voices near the end
too. Your voice suits this song very well - shades of Marc Almond and
Sylvester.
The melody is very catchy and the production is very good too - bravo!

Hey, Bill. Thanks again for the ongoing support.

I wanted to create something bouncy and... well... frivilous. What a hoot it was to do. I am afraid to say that I don't know who Marc Almond and the Sylvesters are. I'll have to do some musical research now.

I so appreciate the listen and comments.

Happy Sunday. And don't forget to do something frivolous.

Haha. A double ententre. Naughties, as in the 00's and as in naughty.

Thanks, Pie, for the listen and the comments. I'm glad you liked the little ditty.

Cheers.

Nice Production and arrangement. Refreshing sound this is an easy song
to listen to. I to have been trying to learn how to use the synths in LE7
you seemed to have done a very good job.

Thanks, Ed. A lot of my time working on this song was spent sifting though all the synth sounds in LP. There are soooo many. What fun.

Thank you for your comments. Cheers.

Thanks for the listen and comments. You're the third or fouth person who has mentioned the throw back to the 70's sound in this piece. And interestingly, when I was making it, I didn't hear that influence. I'm glad you also think it's "nouveau." Wouldn't want to be totally stuck in the 70's.

Cheers.

Lazy pop (in the nicest possible way) &mdash 07/03/06 - 07:54:17 AM
This is a very well thought out song Charlie. The instrumentation fits
beautifully and has been intelligently constructed. Like the vocals and
the harmonies are very sweet. Like everyone else, the break was a
surprise. If this is what you produce as your first pop song, I expect
we'll be hearing better and better in the future - very cool, very well
put together.

Thanks, Neil. I'm glad you liked it. I love the constant challenge that this home recording thing gives me. It's hard to believe that my brand of pushing the envelope is going mainstream. How ironic.

Thanks so much for the listen and comments.

Cheers.
