Description:
a slow-to-mid tempo lament. set to an "everybody knows this is nowhere" groove.
Lyrics:
you better keep her home tonight. you better keep her locked up tight. better put the bolt upon the door. ann elise is breaking out. annie's shaking all about. never seen the likes of her before.ann elise is crying where she's lying on the hill. she's dancing on a wire, her desire feeds her will. a harmless little smile, misleads you for a while and breaks your heart just like it always will.
oh, you're gonna miss her, she - has now become a mystery. you thought you knew her once but now you don't. although you never made demands, she's slipping right between your hands. you held her once but now you know you won't.
chorus
you better keep her home tonight. you better keep her locked up tight. better put the bolt upon the door. ann elise is breaking out - annie's leaving home, no doubt. 'cause annie doesn't love you anymore.

Well mister Brian you get high marks on this. Great turn of phrase and
word pictures.
The song is well constructed and built with fine, clean guitar work.
Could be a touch faster. Small nit.

Wonderful! The southern pop rock feel is so clean and happy and works
perfectly with the lyrics, as if it is annie's theme song in her head. I
thoroughly enjoyed the rhyming scheme, the effortless and understated
guitar work. Straightforward and solid. A radio ready hit.

You show a lot of *professional restraint* that many musicians (including
me) tend to forget.
Nice blend of everything in here and the vocals are very well-done.
Very nice work once again, Brian. ;-)

all me. stacked vocals, 3 part harmony, each part sung 3 times (9 tracks of
vocals total) a george martin trick - i read that is how the Beatles did "Because"

I'm reaally hooked on your sound. I guess maybe we have the same music influences. Beatles, Lennon, Eages...etc...
Your stuff needs to be on many IPods! Then it needs to be distributed other ways to benefit you. Get what I'm saying Brian? Great stuff again. RP

Your writing is some of the best I've listened to here... before we ever
play a note, we need to have a SONG... It gives all the rest of the work a
direction... you've got this down in spades

You have an easy relaxed tune here with just the right touch of bite to it.

Really great work. Sort of a Better Than Ezra vibe, too.
