Thank you very much everybody, especially Ka Klick for the backing track. I
really had a blast doing this, been wanting to do a blues track for a while.
Here's to that blues revival everyone is talking about.......

Awesome &mdash 06/27/04 - 10:39:10 PM
I love the blues, usually go down to a local bar(pub for you Ringo! :) ) on Wednesday for an improv blues session, but this one rivals anything I've seen or heard! This is just incredible. I'm at a loss for words, just awesome!

Awesome &mdash 06/27/04 - 11:03:16 PM
Thanks very much X. What gets me is the tone you get from GB's amp
simiulations. I didn't use an amp for this and played it to a friend who collects
vintage guitars and amps and he just simply couldn't believe it. Not sure I can
either...

Thanks again for the comment.

This is Amazing! &mdash 06/27/04 - 11:00:34 PM
Makes me feel like I've been playing w/ a star! :-)
Very gratifying to hear it all come together that nicely! I
feel like I'm back in Austin at Joe's Generic Bar (think that's
the name) sucking down a nice cold Shiner Bock. Just
terrific! This is what I love about this site! The ability to
"jam" w/ someone accross the Atlantic. Much more the
SRV than I think I could muster. I'll be content just holding
down the rhythm track. You know, I'm going to break out
one of my reserve of Celis Grand Cru's and tip one to you.

Mr. F., firstly, thanks for listening, I didn't know that blues was your "cup of
tea" as we are so fond of saying over here. Secondly, a big thank you from
both of us and thirdly a very embarassed "I'm not worthy". Glad you got
something out of it.

Thanks dude. Hey I just read the comments under the one bomber blues (I
was away for a couple of days, had big problems with a chick and really felt
like playing some blues. All I read was the bit in the title about "wail a solo"
and just thought "yeah"........) Really looking forward to your version. All I can
say is that the more problems you have in your life, the better the solo will
sound...

Cheers,

Ringo

Well done getting this out of the amp models - the
production on this is incredible - it inspires me to get
hold of my friend and neighbour, Derek, and have him put
some guitar tracks down for me. Your blues is very fine
too.

There's A Red House Over Yonder &mdash 06/28/04 - 09:10:11 AM
Sounded like Hendrix at first, then SRV, toss in a little Beck for seasoning . . . cool!

I wish the backing guitar came though a little more, or was gone, one or the other.

Rock On!

Dear fellow guitarist. (can you tell that this is a vintage tweed all tube Mac I'm
using..see it's not just your tunes that I like...) Yep, good call on the
influences. Know what you mean about the volume too. I think I suffered
from "lead guitarist syndrome" a bit on this one. (sorry KK..)

Live groovin' &mdash 06/28/04 - 09:41:34 AM
Like a stage full of blues greats, the electric sound washes
out of the speakers and fills the room with wonderfully
indulgent sonic excess (all in a good way). And like on
stage, the drums are too soft and the lead sometimes gets
too loud. I really like the way the playing is panned,
occasionally, with the use of a second lead, like you're
going to trade 8s with yourself, but then it doesn't quite
get passed back and forth that way. REALLY GREAT
PLAYING all around, amazing energy and great guitar
amps captured. By the way, you did a perfect job
finishing off the song without it seeming like you were
playing to a repeated sample.

Live groovin' &mdash 06/28/04 - 10:07:36 AM
Tobin, wow, thanks very much. I still think your blues guitar on "Lucky Boy" is
sensational (well the whole track is but the guitar particularly so). Yep, this
was VERY self indulgent. I was thinking of swapping phrases on the panning
every 8 bars (good call) but there were only two takes and the first one more
or less worked so I just stuck in the second take where necessary.

A really big thank you from Ka Klick and I

blues is in the air! &mdash 06/28/04 - 10:09:48 AM
GREAT playing, Ringo and ka_klick! The rockin' bass lays a
perfect foundation for your blazin blues licks, Ringo. Truly
awesome guitar work.

Summertime is the best time to listen to the blues, for me
anyway. You couldn't have captured the mood any better
than you guys did on this track.

And you did it ALL in GB 1.1! If this ain't the best
testimonial to this software, I don't know what IS.

Highest ratings.

Cameron, thank you for a great comment. I have to confess I'm a bit
overwhelmed by all of this. I really did just want to play some blues. Anyway,
I'm thrilled you all like it so much. Take a bow Ka Klick, that backing track is
magical....

Texas Flood &mdash 06/30/04 - 07:40:27 AM
Great raw texas styleNice tone considering the modelling. I also noted what sounds like a couple different tracks -- tracked left and right. nice touch. I'm not a huge amp modelling fan (I admit it has it's place like when you are in front of computer laying down a track and can't mess with cables and amplifiers), BUT... I'd love to hear this thru a nicely distorted small tube amp, mic-ed, and into the rest of the mix. There is something very gratifying about the real overdrive of saturated TUBES.

Texas Flood &mdash 06/30/04 - 12:20:50 PM
Thanks Mstuartev, having heard your stuff over the weeks and months it's
obvious that you really know the Blues. Know what you mean about a tube
amp, been trying a few out recently. Ever heard of "Matchless"? They are a
small boutique firm that went bust because their amps were too good. (took
too long to make and didn't charge enough when they were finished). There
is a guitar store in Denmark Street (the Street in London that is ALL musical
instrument stores) that has one and every guitar you try they get you to put it
through this. 30 watts 2,500 quid (gulp!) but just makes everything you do
sound amazing. I'm hooked.

Thanks again,

Ringo

p.s.I STILL want to go to Clarksdale....

None of your mediocre pentatonic blues here, this guy is
all over the neck. Nice expressions and tensions. The
panning gets a little confusing on the ears tho, but overall
a nice piece.

good but a bit repetitive &mdash 08/14/04 - 04:09:05 PM
Good song, but it is a bit repetitve or maybe just a bit too long. I know it's blues and it is supposed to be repetitive, but adding a bridge will break up the 12-bar vamp.

I got the blues &mdash 09/01/04 - 05:54:34 PM
What is creative with this song? It is repeating the same
old blues we know since Blues was born. Nothing against
blues. But we don't live in 1960 anymore.
