caroline (57)barekoala (7)blue skies (3)alfalpha (22)harmonica (36)
Description:
Another little 'ditty' which has been sitting in the back of the cupboard for some time....

We thought it was time to give it some air!

(...featuring Carol Axford on harmonica!)

Composer:, Irving Berlin

Lyrics:
Blue skies, smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies, do I see

Blue birds singing a song
Nothing but blue birds, all day long

Never saw the sun, shining so bright
Never saw things,
Going so right

Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love
My how they fly...those

Blue days, all of them gone,
Nothing but blue skies
From now on...

But . . . . . . . &mdash 07/04/06 - 03:36:48 AM
But Caro, there are clouds there! Nice work Alf and Caro - this is a lot
crisper than other songs you've done. My dad would have loved this.
The music hall organ is perfect, and Caro, I don't think I've heard you
sing this well before. Harmonica sounds so Horrie Dargie - an
Autralian who had a harmonica band when I was a kid.
This is excellent!

But..... &mdash 07/04/06 - 03:57:16 AM
Many Thanks Neil!
I picked a photo from our travels......(Western Australia from memory,
oh, Boranup National Park!)...I think that there should be some 'white
fluffy clouds' in the shot, given our relationship.....er....that is the
'barekoala' compendium...'fluffy' is a catch-phrase...!

What a wonderful song!
Beautifully sung Caroline. Your voice sounds incredible.
The harmonica fits perfectly in with that fabulous haunting sound.
The whole production on this is top notch.

This really sounds nice.
Your voice sounds really good on this, and that soundbed is really nice.
Lovely writing - music and lyric-wise! But that harmonica really blows me
away!

Thank you for sharing!

This is the stuff which would have had them flocking to Herne Bay Pier... &mdash 07/06/06 - 04:43:16 PM
... until it sank!

I'm really enjoying this (or rather I was until you had that fade out - less
said about that the better I say...). Well I'll just have to listen to this
delightfully cheesey dittie again... Ah that's better, that harmonica is so
sooo fine... Caroline you're sounding absolutely tip top! And Alf that's a
lovely mellow arrangement you got there.

You've all done very well!

of life....in a good way....your stuff always grabs me....you stand out from
the rest here on MacJams....Great Mix....Great Production....nice air filled
instrumentation and I LOVE the vocals....grea great work....

That organ has such a hokey tongue-in-cheek personality, I love it.
Wonderful arrangement. Elegant and silly all at once, respectful and
flippant, with an ironic melancholy to your vocals. Thanks for the many
layers. Wonderful track.

Hi .. Great, great, great people.

Didn't know of this collab before!

This sounds like the records did when I grew up and life was easy.
Thoroughly wonderful arrangement. And you are vocalizing this beautifully Caro! And that harmonica is soooo great .. You relelease a CD with harmonica tunes in this fashion and I by it immediately.
