Description
This song is inspired by an other macjammer. http://www.macjams.com/song/21750

Read their song description for more info on how the song came to be. Needless to say it is sad and I felt these strings (which the other mac jammer also uses) where well suited to the subject.

Nice piece
Those string loops are really depressing and inspiring all at the same
time. You put them together in a different way but still captured the
feel the strings give. Constructive comments though from me would
include the fact that the piece may be a bit repetitive and perhaps
needs a cleaner ending. Thanks for sharing the music with us.

Hi Announcer,

I totally agree, repetitive seems to be my thing. I guess I'm thinking in terms of a
regular ol' pop song, course, lyrics, y'know that sorta thing. But it never really
translates well into what I'm doing. Plus I'm just using garage band loops with
my computer, perhaps I should really learn to actually play something of my
own. I appreciate your comments, please feel free to drop by anytime and help
me out :)

Couple of little tricks I have learned to keep things interesting since I am like
you writing most everything on the computer using loops (I do not play music
... at all). Use the transpose tool. I will many times take the main theme that I
have put together and copy it. Then I paste it onto the end of the first go-
round of the theme and use the transpose tool to transpose all of the regions
that are still highlighted up one, two, three or five steps. Second trick I use is
the add instruments or build into the second and third verse I may take the
lead instrument and double it up on another track and transpost all of those
reasons up three steps or five steps or even a whole octave. These tricks work
really well with software instruments. I might also take the same loops and
double them with a different instrument and put it in harmony or an ocatave
higher or lower. Another trick is to put a bridge in. The "middle eight" that
changes structure and breaks up the verses and the choruses. I'll often come
back to the main theme after the bridge in a different key to "refresh" the
theme. Listen to my song Depression4 http://www.macjams.com/song/
21750 for examples of some of these tricks.

BTW "monsters under the bed" is classic in its approach to structure as
well."A" theme followed by "B" theme then repeat the two, then bridge or "C"
theme then "A" and "B" up a whole step. I introduce the guitar after the first
verse and chorus and double up the lead instrument after the bridge.
