Keywords:
Katchoolik (27)Instrumental (418)Organ (75)
Description:
Mr Katchoolik sent me a track he was working on. Great rocking geetars and bass, with lots of 80's style synth leads. I liked the track, but i had a different interpretation of what i thought it should sound like. So he asked me muck around with it. So i got rid of the synth leads (it was pretty good) and instead added some organ. I didnt want too much drowning out the great geetars and bass, so a subtle, but nice organ sound is what i had in mind. The organ is done using the awesome B4 organ synth - a failthful recreation of the classic B3 organ. I also added some geetars of my own (mostly solos) using an authentic sounding tone of Amplitube. This is the final result.

Katchobber Jam, Baby!

Hardware:
Some Macs. Mines is G4 1ghz PowerMac, Katches is a 1.9Ghz iMac G5.

play with that organ Liam &mdash 07/04/06 - 05:17:48 PM
right on.... I love the sound of the B4 sounding like a B4.
Your additions really worked well with that basement jam.
The song art also brings out the deep meaning of this tune.
Well done Scotty...... until the next jam....

deeply meaningful &mdash 07/04/06 - 05:37:23 PM
I'm a sucker for any Hammond sound - especially when it's played like
this - nice (and deeply meaningful) tune guys. Obbster, I must look
through your back catalogue.

More please. I love this sound.
Reminded me I should have more Deep Purple in my audio collection.
So little time so much to listen to.

Nice textures &mdash 07/05/06 - 07:14:25 AM
Very cool. I dig the organ textures. My favorite parts are the key/chord
changes when the kick in. Very nice balance to the mix. Really effective
collaboration, guys.

Throwback &mdash 07/08/06 - 07:15:54 AM
Taking me for a ride in the wayback machine with this one fellers! Shades
of some cool mid-late 70's rock.

This does kick ass! Nice work, gents.

Well. This ROCKS. &mdash 07/08/06 - 07:44:20 PM
I mean, it IS deeply meaningful and reflects the gentle sensitivity of the
gents what created it, but also, IT ROCKS.

Really like it. I love electric guitars, especially good electric rhythm
guitars, against that B3 sound. The lead tones are great.

Of course, when you have a deeply sensitive and integral graphic
element for a tune such as this, YOU SHOULD PUT IT IN THE mp3 FILE
so people like me don't have to suffer the indignity of cutting and
pasting just to have the aforesaid deeply etc. show up in the iPod.

Also, obbster, I'll be heading over to your page tomorrow for a few more listens.
I think I've been missing something...

progression and mix. that organ just fills it right up till my cup runneth
over with B3. the guitars are indeed rockin. I love the little synth/guitar
threads that run just beneath the organ. sounds ripe for vocals? cool
riffin break :-)

the picture was a hoot, and no I didn't care

Nice track! &mdash 07/10/06 - 06:02:53 PM
You guys did a super job on this one! Love the guitar riffs and that
hammond sound just sets it all off. Nice mix as well. I had just read
something about that B4 - it's nice to hear it here. Sounds great!
