Description:
This is the result of listening to alot of Micheal Giachino's Alias soundtrack...

Actually could call this another breaks track as well :)

The problems I now face is getting short attacks with strings and brass - can't get them to sound as authentic as the real thing on this small sampler. I suppose that limits my ability to create all those appogiaturas and fast chromatic scales... Unless anyone here can point out otherwise?

What does sound good are the long sustains - check out the brass I over used ! :D

Piano - Akoustic Piano
Brass, Strings, Timpani and Flute - Garritan Personal Orchestra
Synth - Operator
Drums - Some loop I found somewhere

Sampled and Mixed in Live 5

Youve got soemthing here thats for sure.. gosh darn monster. I dig it
muchly, just wish it were a bit longer so I can continue to groove on the
pumping.

Really keep pimping this and ask around, its very good!

Ah, Michael Giacchino... &mdash 07/07/06 - 04:10:16 PM
...one of my favorites.

This is really cool, man.
Good, thriving beat the whole way through. I've always been a bit of a
sucker for synths orchestra, not to mention with some cool drum beat.
Very cool work!

Very intense &mdash 07/08/06 - 07:28:41 AM
The piano sets the aggressive tempo. All the instruments follow well and
then to wrap it in an industrial feel is quite impressive. This sounds like
something "Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass" would attempt but you
managed it with strings. Great angle, great mix and thanks for sharing.

this is phat &mdash 07/08/06 - 03:51:19 PM
I like the whole thing!

I think you are too hard on yourself. I don't notice the "short attacks"
and such.

This seems very spy sounding.

I'm a bit out of my element when someone says it is supposed to be a
score. I want to see the video that goes with to truly judge. This would
not work for a love scene. Well, at least for one anyone other than me
wants to watch.

big band on dope &mdash 07/08/06 - 03:53:50 PM
short, but impressing. A haunting piano riff, terrific arrangement. Lingers on in my head. Listening for the third time already. Should this mean that I like it?

adventure.

Cool &mdash 07/11/06 - 08:46:57 PM
Has a mission impossible vibe to it. Excellent use of sound effects mixed
in with the brass and percussion. Short but to the point.

I love spy tracks, and this one was top notch for sure!
Great use of electronic sounds mixed with classical instruments, I totally dug this piece.

Let's make a movie!!!!

Where? How? Duggone it!!! &mdash 07/14/06 - 04:07:43 PM
Like the question and answer theme throughout. Very effective. I would have liked the rhythm to dissolve and come back in, but the drama you create here is powerful and tense. Forgive me if you don't like movies from the 70s, but for some reason it reminded me of a chase scene from some of the older action movies from that period. But retro is good! right? Anyway, I work in GarageBand and there it's easy to adjust the attack and realease of the strings. I usually have to create different layers for the different sounds I need, but especially at the very beginning your strings sound fantastic! How about a bass line to balance the bass drum? Overall I loved the energy and drive of your soundtrack. The synth which comes in later is a great choice too. Can't believe I almost let this post "get away", glad I clicked your name during the chat! Agree with everyone, this is good stuff indeed.

definite "Mission Impossible" feel &mdash 08/05/06 - 01:52:19 PM
..With the piano and trilled flute, but I'm a sucker for low brass, and it
sounds good. GPO sounds great, and I think there is a way to get fast
attacks on the brass... maybe louder/shorter notes will switch to a faster-
attack sample in GPO? If not, then you may need to use trombones for
the legato, and trumpets for stacatto? The jazzy beat is very cool... nice
soundtrack music... so, where's the video? :-)

Not bad &mdash 08/06/06 - 04:25:34 PM
It is well done.

My personal opinion is that it is a little simplistic. The song could use a
few more instruments to make it sound larger. Keep up the good work!

Hey, man--'member me? I talked soundtracks with you and Basil one
day in chat. This is one cool, infectiously catchy little number you've
wrought here. I definitely hear the Giacchino influence, but that's not a
bad thing--he's one of the few really talented new guys out there. I
hope to hear some more soundtrack-type stuff from you again soon.

wow &mdash 12/13/06 - 12:06:03 PM
Wonderful visual and dynamic... I'd say this more than meets the criteria... tense and mysterious... really great producing... I love your sound choices and placement... you could do this for a living
