Description:
All loop piece to check out the Free loops from Access and Bitshift. Named after a kid's game stored in my office. It sort of lopes along.

Well, the upload script didn't work right when I submitted this. Maybe that's
one reason it hasn't got much comments or ratings. It's an all loop piece
exploring the sonic possibilities of the 2 free loop libs that I'd downloaded
plus GB stock and JPfGB loops. Some people really like to posture about loop
use and say it doen't take any creativity, but I actually find it an interesting
challenge to take a pallette of loops and combine them in such a way as to
actually make something sound grounded and interesting. If you want to get
a real take on creativity as it applies to music, read "Silence" by John Cage
sometime. It's a real eye opener as to the nature and value of music and to
the value of the "rules" we continue to create and then break regarding
composition.

Feels like a lot of work went into this one. I'm not always thrilled by where it
goes, but it had some originality many other songs lack.

I love the funk part of this song. The first part is trying to sound driving (I
think) but the edge is missing from the bass sound, at least for me, and I
wabnted it to pound more. But I can definitely dance to it, as Dick Clark
would say!

Thanks guys. As for "driving" I think of this pice more as "loping" I was really
just going for something danceable (or good for excersize) - sounds like I got
that done. The bass sound (while probably most often used in more "driving"
sounds was actually chosen as a contrast to the more laid back, funky
elements.

several songs in one? &mdash 05/29/04 - 05:47:42 AM
I like loop songs, I have no problem with them whatsoever. I'd have preferred this to be split into two songs though.

Nice dance stuff in there for sure &mdash 12/30/04 - 08:54:37 AM
Not too many years ago people didn't know what loops
are and now people are turning it into a true art form.

Thanks for sharing
