Description:
First of all, I'm not a kiss up. I hate kiss ups. I wrote this song in a vulnerable state, after hearing some of the many talents on this site. So many of the pieces I've listened to sound like second nature. I feel like I have to be in a mood to write, and that it takes SO MUCH work to get something down. Anywho, this is an homage to Pooey and all the rest of you.
You should have seen the stupid grin on my face as I played the guitar/guitar solo on this song.
And a personal thanks to Pooey for gracing this piece with his AMAZING skills on the keys.
You could say we've both exposed our weaknesses. . .

Lyrics:
Well it's nice to be here
After such a time away
Though I can't be like Pooey
Writin' one everyday
I can let songs hit me
The way they did today
So I write these words in homage
To you all in this way

Sometime I try to be really really smart
And the word that come to me really are from the hear
But then it always happens
The where do I go from here part
I get stumped then I go
Check the online rhyming chart

I'm in awe when I hear 'em
That they seem so effortless
How do you do it
That they sound seemless?
What can I say
I'm just a budding songstress
So I'll try to write things down
Before they turn into a mess

I guess you could say that I'm too mainstream
That I think inside the box
That I'm easy to glean
Being married to Pooey isn't all that it seems
When he works on my songs
He produces like a dream.

you know... &mdash 07/09/06 - 08:25:09 AM
...you seem to have no problem with your playing, lyrics and delivery here... this sounds very much like "second nature" to me! Very enjoyable tune. I am with totally with you on this point... you can really make a song out of anything... even the song making process. The two biggest obstacles of making a song sometimes can be doubt (overcoming that feeling of being "unsure of youself") and time (just finding the time to finish something)...especially when you have a family! Anyway, I think I am rambling. I guess my point is that more people around here share the same feelings that you do than you may think! I can certainly relate...

Thanks Stun. Joining MacJams, for me, took a really long time. I didn't have the
courage. But listening to other people's ideas and work and comments has been
such a freeing thing. And you're right about time. It's summer now! Who
knows what'll happen. I'm so glad report cards are done!
Thanks again.

Catchy tune. The guitar and the lyrics merge so good... The piano is quite good too. Good job

Hey thanks so much! I really had fun with this and though it may sound over simple, I'm happy with how it turned out!
