Description:
THis is the first song I wrote back in 03. It was for my wife on our 6th anniversary. Now that I have GB3 it's the first I had to record. She finally got to hear teh finished product 3 years later!
Lyrics:
Everything You Need
When you need to laugh,
When you need to cry,
When you need to let it all come out
and you don't know why.
When you need strong arms to surround you,
and someone to take you away...
I'm strong, I'm silent
I'm yours and I can't fight it
I'm devoted and I'm blinded
And I'll be everything you need.
When you need that touch
When you need attention
When you need a lover
When you feel the passion...
When you need strong arms to surround you,
and someone to take you away...
I'm strong, I'm silent
I'm yours and I can't fight it
I'm devoted and I'm blinded
And I'll be everything you need.
When you need a shoulder I'll be your best friend
When you need a push i'll help reach the end
When you're lost, I'll be close at hand
When you are in danger I will defend
When you have fallen I'll lend you a hand
When you need a soldier I'm at your command
Can't you see, that what you need, is me.... because...
I'm strong, I'm silent
I'm yours and I can't fight it
I'm devoted and I'm blinded
And I'll be everything you need.
I'm strong, I'm silent
I'm yours and I can't fight it
I'm devoted and I'm blinded
And I'll be everything you need.

Nice Job! &mdash 07/11/06 - 01:57:22 PM
Really good. I mean really good! Ok.... a cross of vocal and song styles...Dan fogelberg and/or Phil Collins...neither too shabby! Nice lyrics, great acoustic song. Hey can I give some constructive....
try just once to soften lyrics a little, tough to do w/o slowing, but try it. Like more fogelberg less Collins. I really like this piece. Let me know if you try it!!!
One of the best i've heard on site. Tks for sharing it. RP [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the support and the tips! I appreciate the comments on the vocals. This was the first time trying to record my vocals. I played a lot with mic placement and distance and with the compression settings. I'm an instrumentalist by traded and my voice is where I'm least confident. I'm tracking a new tune now and I'll put your suggestions to use.
Looking forward to checking out your tunes!

Solid tune! Enjoyed the delivery too, the straight-ahead, honest
performance. Love the folk rock sound. Looking forward to more from
you. Uplifting. [ Reply to This ]

Wow. Okay, you are amazing. Your wife must've been crying her eyes out
when she heard this for the first time! What a beautiful song, and you're a
great musician. Thank you so much for sharing this with us!

Thanks for the comments! She did love the song. IT was a long time coming! I had tried recording it the past couple of years on different old versions of Lagic and Cubase on my 500 iBook but didn't have the horsepower and would quit and try abother program. Now with a new mac and Garageband 3 I'm in heaven! Can't wait to get some other old tues recorded.
Thanks for listening.

sorry for he cheezy slogan... my wife always asks "why haven't you
written a song for me"... I'll pay you if I can use this one... great job....
good melody and vocal... everything sounds great... but you've found
a new way to restate an ageless subject matter [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for your comments! Jon Bon Jovi always impressed me... only because he took such common themes and phrases and sentiments like "I'll be there for you" and made them into a really memorable tune.
My wife used to say the same thing to me. I gave her the lyrics in 03 in her anniversary card and had a rough melody. It took till now to get it recorded.
THe only thing about it is now that I've been writing a bit more I look back at that tune while I record it and second guess myself. I decided to stick with the original lyric rather than rework it.
Glad you liked it! Now get working on that song for your wife!!!! lol

Of a song I wrote for my best friend and his wife some 20 years ago (style wise only lol). This is a really sweet song. We Canadians write the best love songs lol. You have a new fan. I listened to the project your kids put together and was very pleased with it. I think teachers should be held up as heros because they are the second largest influence in young peoples lives and to teach music is an assured way of reaching them when most other ways don't. Good job! I will be back to visit each time you put up something new. I hope this finds you and your family in the best of health and spirit. [ Reply to This ]

Yes we do love songs well... must be the cold. Thanks for your kind words! I've been down on my music lately. Having a little one makes it hard to keep working on stuff. I'm starting to strike a balance and your comments really perked me up. I'll try go get back to posting some material so you're not disappointed!
Look forward to checking out your work! [ Reply to This ]
