Description:
A grinding riff driven by the weight of the world....We are told to learn from history's mistakes....I guess we all forgot to pay attention
If you want a piece of the mind set behind the war machine please go to:
http://www.newamericancentury.org/
Look at the names behind the ideas communicated on this site.....scary stuff....however this is just the tip of the iceberg....sadly....things are not what they seem....are they??
So what do you think??
Peace....Ian Baird
Lyrics:
Is this the best that we can do??
So they say
All unemployed balance the load
come and play
Someone else's idea of a good time
Are you having fun??
When we reach overload what do we do then?
Where's my gun??
The wills are broken
The mind is frozen
Do not believe in what will become
the next big thing....
Capatalize on more misery
hear them squeal
Shocking programs simplifying the process
What a thrill
Propaganda edits complete with a tagline
all day
Believe what you want just don't interfere
Stay out of the way
The wills are broken
The mind is frozen
Do not believe in what will become
the next big thing....
Don't want to hurt no one
No one has to die
Is there, Is there no one
that will not try??
The wills are broken
The mind is frozen
Do not believe in what will become
the next big thing....

Great &mdash 07/11/06 - 07:51:08 AM
Again, a great mix in this song. I really like your sound, it is very well
done and seems to be an original style instead of copying what is already
there. Very good job. Awesome arrangement between the verse and
chorus. Thanks [ Reply to This ]

Great drive!
Love the sliding bass in the second verse.
Evocative lyrics and well performed.
Kudos!

style &mdash 07/11/06 - 04:10:02 PM
like the style on the vocals as ussual. not sure if its just this computer but the vocals sound a little quiet in the mix at points. nice heavy guitar, its a nice contrast to the quiet mellow singing. i like the chorus, its easier to hear in the mix too. another good song from the springy wonder. good job/ [ Reply to This ]

Nice Work &mdash 07/11/06 - 09:33:58 PM
Hey good work on this song, I'm impressed with your guitar/vocal
combo, the verse is well done, you've got a great voice and a creative
mind when it comes too writing your lyrics, if your ever interested in a
collab let me know. [ Reply to This ]

Believe &mdash 07/12/06 - 08:50:01 AM
Really dig the verse groove, the start sans drums, the lyrics, construction.
When everything kicks in there is too much distortion in my old ears, and
the vocals seem in a different space than the guitars and bass (and drums
are behind everything else). But another unique yet solidly mainstream
hit. Its just... what if you are the next big thing? [ Reply to This ]
Agree with Tobin &mdash 07/12/06 - 09:53:16 AM
I really dig the way you build the song. Totally unique but effective. I really like the sincere concern for a "better tomorrow" in your lyrics, supported by a solid vocal performance (could even be more prominent in the mix, especially the hook). My only critisism (for lack of a better word) is the overall mix. It seems to me that there is no real panning (are you recording live or in a studio?) and the bass and guitars don't sound quite as full as the drums, hence they don't seem to blend and make the drumset to stick out a little bit. "Muddy" is too strong a word again, and to be honest is could just be the bass I'm referring too, as the lower frequencies of bass and guitar appear to overpower the midtones. Does that make any sense? But please don't get me wrong, I really admire all of your work and what I said comes from the mouth of an amateur! The performance and songwriting here are outstanding! I just think it's great you're offering music of that calibre for free. Thanks a lot! [ Reply to This ]
Another great one &mdash 07/13/06 - 08:40:45 AM
Excellent work, Ian. I dig the main guitar riff and the way the bass
drops in like a bomb here and there. I love the lyric "When we reach
overload what do we do then? Where's my gun??" Excellent writing,
throughout the song. [ Reply to This ]
Again a good song from you &mdash 07/13/06 - 04:36:48 PM

Not bad &mdash 07/16/06 - 06:42:43 AM
I think you can get away with kind of a spartan approach on the first verse with just the vocals and a simple guitar riff but I think you need to change it up a bit the second time around. I liked the vocals in general but I kept waiting for the song to start rocking out and the vocals to start getting powerful but they never did which was a bit of a letdown for me. Some people might like this approach though. [ Reply to This ]
Yah &mdash 07/16/06 - 10:03:18 AM
Great writing and playing as usual, springclock. That song art cracked me up! I dig the grooves and guitar sound. Being as caffeindish as I am, I kind of feel like the tempo was a little on the slow side; I wanted it to get a little heavier and more visceral. But the sound you have is cool, it's got sort of a narcotic sleepiness going on with the heavyhanded chunk. Nice going! What was the cardboard tube for? [ Reply to This ]
Yah &mdash 07/16/06 - 12:37:12 PM
I sang through the tube into a sm57 for the vocal parts during the bridge....
Peace....Ian
