Description:
I'm fond of the Koto and love when it accompanies a flute. When I played with these instruments on my Yamaha keyboard this is what flowed out.
It's more traditional sounding and not as techno as a lot of what's in this category but I hope you enjoy it anyway and of course I'd love to hear any comments about it from you.
Also it was composed well before William's wonderful score for Memoirs of a Geisha.

At a pagoda? &mdash 07/17/06 - 09:52:48 AM
How cool is that - at a pagoda listening the Koto/flute jam. Happy you
liked it, happy that you found it hidden away in this small nitch. It's nice
to try something different, which you do quite often yourself. I%u2019m enjoying
your jams and thanks again for the listen and your kind words. [ Reply to This ]
Great! &mdash 11/15/06 - 11:28:51 AM
I'm a Japanese major, and this really makes me excited. I'm taking a course on the Koto next semester. It's a pretty good song. I love how Japanese music is typically in a minor key. I LOVE to play in minor keys. =D [ Reply to This ]
Koto rules &mdash 11/15/06 - 03:19:32 PM
I'm really happy you liked this. This is one of those pieces that's been up for a while and so few people have heard it that I'd pretty much thought it was long forgotten. I too love Japanese music and it's penchant for minor keys. Good luck with your Koto studies.
Take Care,
Bowman

Less is more &mdash 09/22/07 - 10:22:45 PM
I really like your arrangement. The simplicity of the scoring brings out the expressiveness of the flute and contrasts the texture of the two instruments. The unhurried tranquility is infectious! Thanks!! [ Reply to This ]
You give careful listens hear a great deal... &mdash 09/25/07 - 04:28:26 PM
so important to composing and commenting.
And of course not hurrying is so vital to the soul of a piece.
Thanks so much Doug.
