Description
Las Bragas a band I've played with off and on for the past 10 years did a gig at the weekend (our first in almost a year). Everyone in the band had a great time and it looks like we'll be a bit more active... Anyway it got me listening to the band's recordings again. This track comes from the same session as Le Troisième Demi and Why? it also has the same line up. The track was done quickly (possibly in a take) and to my mind it captures the spirit of the band live - a slice of what Las Bragas are like on the night!
The tune is a 'traditional' tune (i.e. somewhere along the line, people have forgotten who wrote it!) And I think it's Irish although it's quite upbeat (I'd kind of expect an Irish tune about leaving Ireland to be a bit maudlin...)

Jeez! Bloody hell. That is some chopsy fiddle playing.
I recognise that tune from somewhere but can't remember the name of
the version I know. Past caring anyway. That is bloody brilliant.
I'm really glad the band is gigging again and looks to have some kind
of future. It sounds like you're all fabulous musicians in your own right
but gel together with incredible aplomb and a (literally) breathtaking
energy.
I am absolutely bloody KICKING MYSELF that I didn't drag you round for
incessant jam sessions when I lived next door to you.
Gobsmacked, Martyn. Truly gobsmacked.
