Description:
This is a short piece composed of 50% loops and 50% from scratch. I wasn't thinking of doing anything like this, especially something so dependent on loops (they're fun and all but not as original as I would like). The more I fooled around with this, however, the more I started to envision a colonial family eager to begin afresh somewhere out west, but must first make that journey. So I thought, "Why not?" Yeah, I know--sappy. Anyway, enjoy! Comments are certainly welcome, as I'm more of a jazzer than a classical composer.

This has a very uplifting feeling, and it builds nicely to its climax. I think
you've succeeded. A very sweet piece.

Thank you. I really didn't think that anyone would respond, being that this tune
is composed mostly of loops. I appreciate the nice words.

You're using the loops tastefully, so that makes it all right with me. It's not too
obvious that they are loops.

I'm looking forward to your comments on my latest track :-)

Tastefully done &mdash 07/28/06 - 05:21:55 AM
Hi Ron, I don't care if you used loops or not, this composition is very
tastefully done. Everything works well together, creating an atmosphere
of calm and loveliness.

God bless,

Rick

with a little &mdash 08/28/06 - 07:12:20 PM
attention to the mixing this would be a really cool piece of music. I too
have a weird feeling about basing a song on loops, but I think what you
did here was a good example of how creatively loops can be used.

I am enjoying your posts very much.

I am firmly pro-loop &mdash 07/09/07 - 04:18:02 PM
So I love hearing what people do with them. This is a really sweet piece and sounds a lot like contemporary film scoring. I could very easily see it accompanying a scene in a movie. Loops are great in my opinion as long as they add up to be more than just loops strung together, and this piece more than accomplishes that.
