I've never heard chanting used in jazz fusion, but it's a cool combination.

Your jazz playing / programming is of course excellent as always.

Like the way the chant controls the beginning of the piece Tadashi -
great guitar, keys and percussion in another excellent post from you. I
wonder what we can expect next?

Chanting Drums &mdash 07/25/06 - 02:28:13 PM
I'm impressed by the usual things I love in your music, the drums and
the bassline, especially, but this song is special because of the way you
use contrasts, quiet moments against loud ones, spaces of silence,
ancient chanting against modern instruments.

Your imagination is wonderful.

More fast Zen jazz! &mdash 07/26/06 - 08:16:41 PM
I thought Soto was supposed to be a SLOW path to enlightenment... I
thought RInzai was the sudden school...

What do I know...

"Thus in our practice of Buddhism, when we master one truth, we
master all truths; and when we complete one activity, we complete all
activities. The place is here; the way leads everywhere." --Dogen

I always enjoy listening to your music, Tadashi.

Ed,
Dogen is a great priest who extends to China and trained.
After it returns home from China.
Dogen made the custom of washing and the tooth polish known to Japan.
Always thank you for an interesting comment.
It is my joy that sees your comment.

Very beautiful music again, Tadashi. That sutra makes such an
interesting combination with your hyperkinetic jazzy music. As usual,
there's a lot to listen to in your song, and it stays surprising and
interesting to the end. I really like this!

A spiritual tapestry &mdash 07/30/06 - 04:01:48 PM
I listen again and again. As if in two speeds, as if on two planes. The gong
bells a masterful touch. The Zen of guitar, is it the hearing, or the playing
or all.
