Description:
Inspired by the re-emerge of my band the REPTILES I've started making songs more bluesy again... This one is however done solely by yours truly:)
I decided to take the first version of this one down because I had to tweak the EQ at some parts. Played it in my car and the guitar sounds hurt my ears...
Thanks to those who made a comment on that version. Hope your ears are still OK;)

Lyrics:
Someone for youThor Oliversen©2006
Thank you everyone for being here
thank you so much for the time we share
Oh, how good it is
Look around, just look around
I love you, I love you all
If you know where happy lives
Look him up, he'll be there when you call
I guess you know where sad lives too
Where do you go, where do you go?
I love you, I love you all
And if you find it hard
to let go - the blue
Look around
There is someone for you

Funny you should mention Robert Cray.. I just bought one of his old albums ''strong persuader''. I might be a little influeced:)
Thanks for mentioning the falsetto.. I was kind of wondering if I should dare keeping it in there;)

Your voice a so alive. Your electric guitar leads have such powerfully
affecting riffs, slicing thru the spaces, reminding of so many moments;
altho it may be a tad loud in the mix. I dig the opening acoustic, and
whenever you return to it; you could even hit the string harder in the
middle of the song, to maintain energy. The organ sound(s) is a great
choice, but has a certain mellowness to its solo that didn't rise to the
fantastic energy of the rest. You can groove, be hip, keep it real, use
classic devices that somehow all become new again. Rejuvinating. Nice
track.
thoddi
Hi Tobin, nice to see you here again. I always enjoy reading your comments. In fact also on other peoples tunes. I find it amazing how thorough you review tunes. You must spend pretty much time listening and going into detail on each tune. I'm grateful for the time you spend listening and commenting on my tunes. Very appreciated.

Thoddi my man. Look forward to start rehearsing this when I get back from Cuba. It'll be a great live tune, maybe a good opening act?
I cannot remember the version you posted on Sunday, but whatever I wrote then may be ignored .... this is a great Thoddi tune, well positioned on the same high level as your other hits.

Bent, my friend and band mate. I'm looking forward to start playing in a band with you again. Thanks for your always encouraging words:) Hope you have a nice stay on Cuba.

make me come back and download all over again... : )
I haven't even listened to this version, but if you think it is the better of
the two, then I am D/L-ing it and replacing the earlier one.
Hope your band thing works out...
cheers-
thoddi
Well, I would like to have you visit all the time, cause you always say nice things:)
So I'm glad you decided to re-visit, and I'm sure this one is more pleasing to your ears than the first one.
And I'm excited about playing in that band again, yes indeed!
Thank you.

Really nice and cool swinging. Very present and living; like listening to a
live-performance, which makes it so much more pleasant. (Personally I
have found that the music that I prefer to listen to year after year has this
live-ish quality).
Thank you for this great addition to my music collection!
thoddi
Nice to have you back Johannes. Thank you for listening and your revitalizing words:) I take it as a great compliment if you find a live feeling in this song.

Want to say something about the guitar work too. Especially the jammy
ending where the guitar is getting a great snappy quality. I wouldn't mind
had the jam been a couple of minutes longer, to give room for more of
this snappy guitar. (Like if in a club gig when the band just keep going
because everything swings so nice and everyone's happy)...

What a killer groove. My complements to the band. I love the flow of this
song and tasty Clapton like licks.
Thanks for posting!
thoddi
Hey Hectorious, thanks for listening and nice review:)
I might have been a bit vague in my descripton of this song, but this is just me playing.

I Try to find three positives in any piece and Then ask questions about
difficulties.
Well, there are like five, just to start:
Opening Acoustic and it's Clean power
CRYSTAL Vocal timbre and Control
A B3 that's NOT Overdone!
The undertsated Lead Gtr, lots of things Cool There.
Clean, Spare Mx: Everyone has Proper Room (How the Hell..?)
Dynamic is a Tad Punchy for this Rig (Flat Reference Phones, Real
Quick), but I Mean a Tad, Only.
Long Live the REPTILES.
Very Best,
Cooper
thoddi
Thanks a lot Cooper:)
And thanks for cheering on the reptiles. It is a cool little band which I'm looking forward to get on with. This one is just me though...

Thor, I really like what you've done here - it's so good to hear someone
produce such complete songs on their own. This could easily be a
band - I'm amazed by your skills on the various instruments in your
arsenal. Your voice is getting better and better, and the production
qualities you achieve are astounding - especially in GB2. I'm interested
to know what instrument you actually play on stage (because it sounds
like you could play anything).
Very nice track!
Neil
thoddi
Well thank you very much Neil. Very nice reading:)
My main instrument is guitar, and what I've played in bands. But I've always enjoyed trying out other instruments. Especially drums. Once the drummer took a break at rehearsals... well there I was...;)

Thor, I'll second the sentiment that its a testament to your craft that
you can write & perform such complete arrangements on your own. the
guitar stylings sound awesome. Just the right touch of tone and chirps,
very cool. The backing tracks and related mix are very pro sounding.
And of course your vocals are outstanding here. The falsetto sounds
fab. great song writing!
tsand19151
great sounding guitars....nice feel. lots of emotion in this..well done
Feter
such prolific recording is this .... just wonderfull
well done !!!
bronco
sixties feel to this song. Everything is great. Not much I can add to
what's been said!
I like the organ also. Very well done all around.
Scott Carmichael
just around to this one.... I love how the feel gets set up completely by
your acoustic... not that I don't like the band, but you could easily do
the whole song on just acoustic.... that's the sign of a good song.... it's
easy to tell that you have stagecraft... for the last decade I made music
mostly at home... the seasoning in your material indicates that this
stuff has been rolled out before live audiences (i could be wrong)... but
stagecraft will give that impression... I love your soulful voice and the
falseto refrain... as always your mix is pro sounding
