Description:
My work on all but the drum track which is GB.
Improved mix, previously posted as ethnic-international (world beat).
Still looking for ways to make the horn section sound better. I think that adding in 2nd and 3rd horns may be the only way to go without getting better software instruments.
Deleted previous version 8/24/06 (not enough differences to justify keeping both versions active)

kool, actually..... &mdash 08/13/06 - 04:23:37 AM
digging the percussion. nice feel. unfortunately adding more horns won't make them sound better. might as well pony up some cash for better software instruments (LOL). .....welcome to the club..... [ Reply to This ]

Thanks for the advice. Not sure if I'm ready to spend more cash, I have three
kids in their late teens early twenties (college, cars.....ouch!). [ Reply to This ]
A Royal Mouse? &mdash 02/12/07 - 03:39:41 PM
Thats quite a grand theme for a mouse, but a jolly one at that. You come up with some interesting melodies - and interesting titles. The rhthym (let me try that again). The rhythm is excellent - have you tried quantizing things at all? I quite like the human feel to the brass , though its sometimes interesting to do a quick quantize just to see what it sounds like as you can always undo it later, but as I say sometimes it takes away the humanfeel of the track.Best wishes,RG
Oh by the way - the piano chords in the middle were great and gave me flashbacks to a film called 'Rumblefish' with Matt Dillon - there was a soundtrack written by Stewart Copeland and it struck me as being an extremely original choice of chords,if you ever saw it you'd hear what i mean [ Reply to This ]
Thanks for listening &mdash 02/13/07 - 03:43:10 PM
I am still learning on when to use the quantizing, this is an older piece and I don't recall doing a lot of quantizing. If I can pull it off, it is usually better to practice the part and record again.
I haven't seen Rumblefish but I listen to Stewart Copeland and others who influence my choices.
Thanks again for the helpful comment and especially for listening to this particular tune. I have a soft spot for the little guy:) [ Reply to This ]
