Description
I don't _think_ I was trying to sound like that famous Irish nband, V1, but who knows... I was 15-16 at the time. "That land over there" was the USSR (it was the mid-eighties), not "Red states" in the US, although some people seem to be afraid of that, too.

Lyrics
RED
The lips of my woman are red
I found her in another one’s bed
Red is a colour not to be trusted
The man on TV says I’ve got to beware
There is no freedom in that land over there
Red is a colour not to be trusted
Many wars were fought for beauty and gold
By bloodstained hands the nations were sold
Red is a colour not to be trusted
Red is the colour of the cardinal’s dress
Red was the hair of the one I loved best
Red is a colour not to be trusted
The lips of my woman are red
I found her in another one’s bed
Red is a colour not to be trusted
The man on TV says I’ve got to beware
There is no freedom in that land over there
Red is a colour not to be trusted
Many wars were fought for beauty and gold
By bloodstained hands the nations were sold
Red is a colour not to be trusted
Red is the colour of the cardinal’s dress
Red was the hair of the one I loved best
Red is a colour not to be trusted

A nice light and airy tune. If I were you, I'd bring a bit more calories into the drums. What I mostly like are the lyrics. I think you could easily write a couple of more verses...
