Description:
A tune with some deep wounds behind it..... Most people will get something out of this one....

Lyrics:
woke up broken too many times
she's already hurt cause he's ready to lie
ignores the memories, neglets the trust
he's made up his mind, with hardly a fuss

says it's antiquated, deliberated
fifteen minutes is all he wants to give to her

burns down the house, refuses to stay
he's at the crossroads, see's it one way

says it's antiquated, deliberated
fifteen minutes is all he wants to give

section out her core
make her incomplete
who could love you more?
mired by your defeat

he's made his exit, gives her the panic
she wants to talk, he just won't have it
took it slow, so this wouldn't happen
takes back his heart
she gets a slap in the face

says it's antiquated, deliberated
antiquated, deliberated
he tries to forget

section out her core
make her incomplete
who could love you more?

Outstanding Orchestration... &mdash 08/11/06 - 09:09:04 PM
Coming from a classicaly trained background I really dug your
orchestration. The bass just rumbled and the auxillary percussion was
just right. The guitar tone coming in on the chorus is a killer.
You're an original and kudos for having the guts to really experiment
here. Love the sudden ending. The whole thing was a sonic ride that kept
me on edge wondering what would come next. You painted an effective
mood piece.

good effort &mdash 08/12/06 - 10:11:18 AM
Great production as always. You're definitely a heck of a songwriter, but I really think you shine more on the tunes that have a bit more "rock" in them. Still, I enjoyed this one. Smooth stuff.

Ouch &mdash 08/13/06 - 10:52:12 PM
You're right, I did get a lot out of this, Ian. I know the other side of
these lyrics fairly well. I love the oblique storytelling going on here and
I have to say I think this is your best vocal to date. There's a difference
in the sound of the production, did you do this one in the dining room
or somewhere else?

Very nice, big old download and this should go on the next EP.

Wow....your comment means a lot....thanks....I cut these vocals in my
bedroom....real close to the mic with the drive on the tube preamp at about
halfway....makes the mic sound like it's down your throat....lol....thanks again....

something retro &mdash 08/15/06 - 04:14:01 PM
There is something resembling the Kinks or even Pink Floyd, but from the early years. Think is the chord progression played on the acoustic guitar that is giving me this feeling together with the little hook-line between some sections.

And the whole arrangement, choices of guitar sounds, perc and strings is great. The deep bass is cool.

I think it would be interesting to here the chorus a bit differently arranged. So it kind of stands out from the rest a bit more.

Again, the deep saw like bass is way cool:)
Think I've listened five times now...

Your vocals sounds great!

songwriting and production as usual. You definitely have a particular sound, much to do with your good vox. Nice going.
