Description:
This is my second posting from what I'm calling The Dead Firewire Dive sessions. These are MP3s of songs I had in the works, in some cases redone and remixed, and that were on my Firewire Drive that died. Most were tunes I was hoping to put on a CD in the near future. All the ones I'm posting here are going to be re-recorded, but I want these versions to be heard since I'm pretty proud of them.

This is, I think, the fourth version of this song to be posted. It's essentiall the same as the last version with the exception of a few bells and whistles added.

This one, I'm definitely going to redo, but I hate that I lost this mix, because I'm about as pleased with it as I have been with anything I've done.

Lyrics:
Picture this day
A walk on the beach
Five fingers intertwined with five of their friends
Sand on our feet
Nothing to say
Thinking of things to say we haven’t said before

I dream of the days and the nights without end
I sit here alone in the dark and pretned
the visions of you and of me are so real
I scream at the walls as they slowly close in
I long for the warmth of your breath on my skin
and I feel
I’m feeling good today

Birds over head
Dogs running round
Watching the clouds as they drift over head
Feeling the sun
warm on my face
Hoping this is all real and life is a dream

If I could I would go there today
but there’s so many things that will keep me away
I’ll dream of the day and the moment in time
A walk on the beach and the wind in my hair
I close my eyes and my mind is still there
and I feel
I’m feeling good todayPicture this day
A walk on the beach
Five fingers intertwined with five of their friends
Sand on our feet
Nothing to say
Thinking of things to say we haven’t said before

I dream of the days and the nights without end
I sit here alone in the dark and pretned
the visions of you and of me are so real
I scream at the walls as they slowly close in
I long for the warmth of your breath on my skin
and I feel
I’m feeling good today

I’ll dream of the day and the moment in time

I close my eyes and my mind is still there
and I feel
I’m feeling good today

I was kind of reminded of Roger Hodgson from "In the Eye off the
Storm". This has a bigger floatier feel which is nice, makes it sound
very open and spacious. Thanks, I enjoyed listening to this.

Thanks for the comments PV. I'm glad the big, spacious sound comes across. I
wanted to go for a very open, dreamy kind of feel, like remembering a memory
of a feeling. Appreciate you taking the time to listen.

I'm sorry if this offends you, but it has a U2 feel. Tasty music really. 7/10

No problem, watergeese. U2 is one of my all-time favorites (at least pre-Joshua
Tree U2). Thanks for stopping by and listening.

Have I heard this before, Joe? Is this a cover of (your?) original
composition? This sounds VERY good. Excellent melody...very dreamy
and makes me kinda sentimental. I''m sure this song sound like a
composition from a pro artist, I just can't give you a name. If this is a re-
record, i may have downloaded this before and listened to it in my iTunes
'cause this really sounds very familiar.

All thumbs up for this!

This one's been posted a few times before as it's evolved. This was the "final cut"
before I lost it on my dead hard drive. I'm in the process of redoing it now.

Thanks for giving it another listen, Leon. I'm sure version #5 will be coming
along at some point.
