Lyrics
I Want To Go To Heaven )

I want to go to Heaven.
I think that you should know.
I've got my suitcase packed and
I'm ready to go.
I want to leave tomorrow,
please don't make me wait.
I want to go, I want to go to heaven.

I want to go to Heaven and
see my saviors face.
I'll bow down and thank Him for
His amazing grace.
I'll take all my joys and sorrows and
lay them at His feet.
I want to go, I want to go to Heaven.

When I see the stars at night in all their glory,
my heart longs for eternity.
When I hear a church bell ring and the gospel story,
Heaven's where I want to be.

(Piano Solo)

When I see the stars at night in all their glory,
my heart longs for eternity.
When I hear a church bell ring and the gospel story,
Heaven's where I want to be.

Now when I get to Heaven
I'll take a look around.
I'll dance on those streets of gold and
kiss that holy ground.
I'll live round the bend,
from Abraham you see.
I want to go, I want to go to Heaven.
I want to go, I want to go to Heaven.
I want to go, I want to go to Heaven.

Really blown away with this. Has an ambient live sound. Was this a live

friggin great track
Thank you Karmatoburn for your kind and encouraging words. The song was definitely recorded live. It was actually recorded at the same time I recorded two other songs posted here at MacJams. "Your The Only Savior", another blues, and "Forget Not The Lord Thy God" which has a jazzier feel. I got together a few years ago with a few friends and let the tape run. What you hear is what we played. No effects and no production. Just a live recording. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Hey Scott... Ttthhhhhaaaaannnnkkkkkzzzz! No sun glasses but I did use a cane to find my way to the piano. Does that count? Artie plays guitar and currrently lives in Tx. He is a pretty tasteful player himself. I wish he had been around to join us on this recording but unfortunately he headed south a month or two before I picked up a used ADAT and set out to do some recording. Keep writing, I'm listening and enjoying.

A delight
Fantastic slow gospel blues tune sung with unabashed and unapologetic
vocal belief. Thoroughly enjoyable. Great collab. I dig the live feeling.
Really nice drumming. I just wish the ending weren't slightly clipped (I
wanted a longer cymbal tail), all the tempo shifts were tighter across the
band, and the few distortion moments were pre-compressed. Still, a
delight. Thanks for sharing this.

A delight
Thank you Tobin. Good ears but then again having listened to some of your pieces I'm not surprised. It was recorded too hot. I tried to hide the fact when mixing the individual tracks but there was just so much that I could do. I recently picked up an EMU 1820 and plan on posting songs that are more produced and of better quality in the future. All I have to do is figure how to hook it up and how to use my computer to record Hopefully I'll be joining that prestidgious group of MacJammers, such as yourself, whose studio work I enjoy so much.

Thank you. Tasting a little bit of heaven here and now is a beautiful thing. It'd the trip back that can sometimes be a little disconcerting.
