Lyrics
Lyrics of my Soul
words and music by arin
You say that you're listening/You think that you're hearing/Then why am I feeling a blank stare stab through me?/My voice seems to sink/To the depths of a deep sea/And when the fog is rolling in you hardly see me.
Who?/Who will throw a net to catch my words?/Who? Who will hold the cup when my heart overflows?/Who will have the time?/Who will have a chance to?/Listen to me and hear/Hear what I have to say/Close your eyes if it helps/Helps you to/Concentrate and Evaluate while I Articulate the lyrics of my soul.
I don't care to be the one/Who is left behind/
I only long to share/ a part of my inner mind/I let down my defenses/I'm pouring out my every thought/I'd hoped you'd be the one to care/But I can see that you are not.

Your vocals carry the track, sound really good, with good pop clarity, a
little Cranberries' stylings, and artful articulations (fitting for the chorus
lyric). In my ears, the drums are too busy for the ballad feel. It is such a
relief when they drop out a moment at "I don't care." Consider a version
with simpler brushes or something laid back that trusts your vocals to
carry the track. Rhythm acoustic guitar would work well too to keep the
rhythm going. (If you do redo it, consider cutting a few repeats, too; it
went on a tad too long for me. I like the end repeats, but some stuff 2/3s
in got a bit long for me.) I really like listening to your vocals on this, so
nice.
