Description
BIG, BIG THANKS to Lisa & Matt - for allowing a "no-holds barred" approach to a wonderful song in the first place. I have taken a totally different approach, using 4 of the original tracks and creating something completely new.

I hope I have grasped the intent that The Orbiting have for this project - it's a whole new crazy world of music now and I am just so happy to be involved with this.

I've rearranged the vocal / lyric somewhat - and the song is now around the 3 minute mark. PLEASE let me know what you think...I really hope the original talent behind this are up for such treatment of the great Saturnine ...( original at http://www.macjams.com/song/23377 )

Enjoy!

Jim.

Saturnine (remix or rework..?)
Thank you for your thoughts - can't tell what this is in comparison to the
original, but I don't think it matters. What matters to me is that a) music
lovers are now able to share & express and b) you don't need a record
company / radio station to get you ideas out there.

It also feels like I'm in good company here.....!

Cheers!

Yes
Thinking the B52s... probably seen through some warped glass, what with the phasing and space warping going on all over the place. Very different take on the song, but it stands on it's own as an interesting, bubbling, cauldron. Uh, if you will. Cool stuff, Jim.

Holy cow! This is great
I can see the B-52s reference, also maybe Animotion. I had no idea
Saturnine could go to this place, and I'm awfully glad it has. Thanks for
taking on our little song and showing us another side. I think, actually,
this song really demonstrates the talent of The Infinites. What you do here
is really unique and original. Forget my earlier comparisons.

Wow, Wow, Wow!
This is GREAT! It's such a thrill to hear someone else singing the words
to our song and having so much fun with the remixing
reversioning. This is absolutely what we imagined, that people would
take the song and just have a party and do whatever they liked. I hadn't
dreamed how much I'd enjoy seeing what other creative heads do with
the material, nor had I imagined a B-52's leap of imagination, but I'm
pleased to death.

Thank you so much for taking the time to make this super-cool
version of the song, Jim. I've got you on repeat. (Lisa)

P.S. I completely agree with you that it's really amazing and wonderful
that we can share and express together and distance doesn't matter
and there's no one telling us we can't do it. Thrilling.

Saturnine
Of course, the whole essence of this work is derived from the original.
Inspiration is only a nudge away from looking in the other direction.
Thank you all for nudging me in the right direction.

Couldn't have done this with out the original and the inspiration.

In a word - humbled.

Jim

Yep. I can hear it.
I might suggest backing off some of the treatment on the vocals... Getting
the vocals up clear and dominant...

Lovely moment having the male voice singing the wearing the wedding
dress line. Very Fred.

I really like the instrumental backing, especially the spangly stuff. I'll have
to check out some of your other music...

Cheers, Ejh
The vocal treatment is probably due to disguising the fact that it would
never have been like Lisa's original vocal, so wanted to hide a bit...

Thank's for checking it out and taking time to comment
