Description:
I finally decided to do something myself with the loop track I came up with (at the time called One Bomber Blues). I'd still love to hear any other takes on it, but here's what I ended up doing.

Lyrics:
Baby I see the train a comin’
down the wrong set of tracks.
Baby I see the train a comin’
down the wrong set of tracks.
No way to go forward
No turning back

Should have put you on a siding
such a long time ago
Should have put you on a siding
such a long time ago
Now where this train is headed
Nobody knows

This Train’s goin’ nowhere
but it’s getting there real fast
This Train’s goin’ nowhere
but it’s going real fast
Better put the past behind us
if our love’s going to last

The signal is blinkin’
there’s danger ahead
The signal is blinkin’
there’s danger ahead
Better keep our wits about us
or our love will be dead

Now the brakes have all stopped working
but we’re on a steep grade
The brakes have all stopped working
but we’re on a steep grade
Better put your hands together
and pray you’ll be saved

NICE BLUES SONG/JAM &mdash 08/27/06 - 01:37:10 PM
YOU HAVE A GOOD BLUSEY VOCAL. ON THE EARLIER VERSES THERE IS A
BIT TO MUCH LEAD GTR GOING, MAYBE A FEW STABS SO YOUR VOCAL
ISN'T COMPETING. ALSO THE RYTHM GTRS COULD BE BROUGHT DOWN A
BIT TO LET YOUR BASS AND DRUMS COME THROUGH. ALL A SIDE OF ME
BEING BITCHY, I CAN SEE PEOPLE GETTING IN TO THIS ON A LIVE
PERFORMANCE. ALSO PULLING THE CORD FROM THE JACK...COOL.

Vic's comment on the lede &mdash 08/27/06 - 11:46:42 PM
is well taken.

I too found the lede guitar competing too much with the vocals. But cut
that back and you've got a dandy. Excellent set of words and music.

Is that Zyrra's Roadhouse? :)

I didn't really futz with the mix on this one much, and tried to play the
licks under the vox in a kind of playing off manner, but the truth is,
you're both right, they need to come down.

Yes, Snow, it is "Zyrra's" but she'd rather I not call it that - was using
that as the working album title - I'm going to put the roadhouse stuff
together. To make her feel more comfortable with it, I'm going to call it
"Roadhouse Ranch and Saloon" - it's a group thing.

Need to get a couple more roadhousey things cooking, to get this
finished off, but right now working on a kind of ELPish ballad thing...
will probably post the progress on that one too.
