Description
A song I've made some time ago. Recorded in garageband, playing everything myself, but drums that is premade GB-loops.

Lyrics
As the darkness slowly falls upon the old man in his chair,
He is looking at a photo showing him and his late wife.

The doorbell rings, he walks to the door.
And he recognises loneliness has come to his house.

-- some go some stay

The lonely man reads the news every day.
Just to find one more friend passed away.

He's not waiting for better times to come.
He is waiting for the boat to take him home.

-- some go some stay

All the things he liked to do,
Will no longer bring him joy.
His bones are tired from the journey,
And will not take him anymore.

In his little world he stays,
Watching pictures from the past.
The old man’s not afraid.
He just wants back what he had.

He is not waiting for better times to come.
He is waiting for the boat to take him home.

-- some go some stay

As the darkness slowly falls upon the old man in his chair,
He is looking at a photo showing him and his late wife.
The doorbell rings, he walks to the door.
Just to recognise loneliness has come to his house.

He is not waiting for better times to come.
He is waiting for the boat to take him home.

He is not waiting for better times to come.
He is waiting for the boat to take him home.

He is waiting for the boat to take him home.

-- some go some stay

Smooth Groove!
I enjoyed this piece a lot! Your vocal delivery reminds
me a bit of Jimi Hendrix (songs like Castles Made of
Sand in particular). Everything is tastefully done and
in its place. I would have liked to hear the guitar
stretch ou with a solo somewhere, but hey, save that
for the live show!

Great guitar solo
This track has a wonderful hip, laid back, funky quality,
and the guitar solo in the break is a killer. Perfectly
fitting. The drum track, singing style, sound choices,
drum loop... everything works together. The lyrics seem a
little random at times (maybe it could just be the lack of
rhymes, when they are lacking; but when it rhymes they
are very good), but the concept is cool and the images are
wonderful. The ending is rather abrupt. But this is a fine
track. (I went back and listened to all your tracks and you
have a really good style. Great blues stuff. Excellent.)

Subtle but strong
blues. I liked this a lot and agree with the above. Your vocals and guitar have such a great touch of a hip, blues sound. I'll check out more of your songs for sure.

imaginative and tasteful
One of the most interesting aspects of listening to
everyone's songs here on MacJams is the incredible
VARIETY of sound-textures created by each artist.

You create a very compelling texture in this song, with
imaginative use of guitar and vocals, along with tasteful
GB drum loops. Everything is well-balanced.

This song is obviously blues but has an interesting twist,
with some rock and even rap overtones. You have created
your own style!

The very end was a bit abrupt for my tastes, but maybe
this is just part of the blues style which I'm not very
familiar with yet.

Great track!

This just reeks of SOUL
The guitar and vocals-Wow!
I am rolling through all your stuff and enjoying all!
What a great talent you have for this.

I love the easy flow to this song. It is as good as any
R&B song I have ever heard on the RADIO growing
up.

some do go
some do stay. and you never know why. thank god someone else
comes along. this song is really heavy. I really like what you did with
"some go, some stay." Great playing. You have a second sense for
clean production, yet retain a "live" feel to your work. as always,
thanks for opening up an sharing this freely with us, your fan, kelli

Sweet
Sweet and smooth, nice lyrics, vocals and guitar. I liked the way you were fading out the ending but then it cut off abruptly.
Thank You for sharing!
