Description:
This is a song I wrote with the talented Jeff Bryant. It features Jeff on lead vocals.
Lyrics:
An islands dream on a mendAnother scene
The sun was younger then
Tried to sleep, up til dawn
Across the street
The lights read right from wrong
A 100 Mile Block
Wasn't what we thought
Tried to look both ways this time
Here's to when we lost and found
Younger then
We could see it now
A 100 Mile Block
Wasn't what we thought
Tried to look both ways this time
Promises were made
A whisper on the day
The things we need to say

Looks like Ashton Kutcher in the graphic. Just saying.
Think this song needs to be a bit faster. Just my opinion.
It's well sung, well done.
If it was on the radio I wouldn't change the dial, but wouldn't seek it
out to buy. The backdrop music would have gotten repetitive if it were
longer. As it is, it's fine. Just bear that in mind if expanding the cut.
A shake up somewhere along the line would be cool as well. A drop out
of vocals to focus on the music, more lyrics (the chorus is half the
song), and a change-up in timing, and I could find myself humming
this one tomorrow.
Thanks.

Rather perfectly understated sweet tune, generalized yet deceptively
poetic lyrics, evoking childproof, regret, second chances, gentle
determination, a centered self-conscious desire for peace and doing it
better, while keeping something hidden and private too. Production is
warm, tight, very well balanced, with a gentle use of friendly percussion
giving it it a sweetly nostalgic homemade feel. This is a jewel. Well done
you two.

Oops. I meant "childhood", not childproof. Altho "childproof regret" is a
rather evocative phrase...

Reminds me of Simon and Garfunkel or Cat Stevens. Excellent. For me it
seemed perfect in tone and execution. This is going on my iPod.

What a different kind of song from you. I think it's wonderful. The
treatment of the vocals over the guitar remings me of Pink Floyd. I think
you could add one or two more gentle elements that come and go,
something that just gently expands the environment and plays a little. I
can imagine some things, little touches here and there.
Really superbly produced and very enjoyable.
