Wlecome to MJ/GB addiction! &mdash 09/06/06 - 04:45:11 PM
This is a very pretty little melody... and although I've not looked
through all the loops in GB, this sounded new to me... so I'll assume
you performed this on your keyboard instead of choosing piano/guitar
loops? I like the piano/guitar interplay, very romantic & moody. I
admit I did *not* care for the various layers of drums/percussion as
much, they were pretty loud and didn't seem to go with the delicate
melody (except possibly some light bongos in the background.) And
though the melody was great, I was hoping for a little B section/chorus
to break it up a little, then it could have gone on longer. Anyway, hope
this is a helpful critique. I like your style so far, sounds great! Keep
having fun, ask questions, experiment!

big on software instruments &mdash 09/16/06 - 04:31:29 PM
The guitar and piano are both done on the keyboard. I have one synth pad I did
on keyboard as well, the rest are loops.
Thanks so much for the input!

I too like the piano and, I too, felt the drums intruded on your song. It's
not a question of mixing levels, it's that they're like a bunch of mud-
covered soldiers marching through a debutant's ball. They sound out of
place. Terrific piano playing, however. Enjoyed your other posting
"Taberah" quite a bit. Welcome to MJs; I'm looking forward to hearing
more from you.
