Description:
Here's round two of this tune. I've punched up the second half of the song from the original with some new instrumentation, and put on a new and *I think* stonger vocal. This is a song that I wrote for use in my faith community.

Lyrics:
Praise you in the Garden
Praise you in the Desert
Praise you under moonlight skies
And when the night is through

We'll praise you in the morning
Praise you while we're mourning
There is no circumstance that
Could steal our praise from you

And just like David
We'll sing out through our brokeness
Just like David
We'll make our hearts your dwelling place

Just like David
Stumbled through his foolishness
Yet reveled in your faithfulness
And praised you to the end
So will we

subtle goodness &mdash 09/09/06 - 09:23:53 AM
Kris, liked the original and I like this as well. The changes are subtle
but they enhance it alot. The vocal is spot on, and the gits sound a
little fuller. The string pad sound new? The mix in particular during the
solo and at the end is a big plus. The drums don't seem so upfront and
guitars are sounding tres balanced in there. excellent effort

Kris...very worshipful!!!
A nice nod to tradition...honoring those who have gone before us...an excellent philosophy...

John, thank. Ya, I felt like the original posting, while I liked it, lacked a bit
of punch. It didn't quite "open up" enough for me. And the synth is a
new addition, a sound I never would have tried if not for the Killers
making me think that 80's synths aren't so bad.

Ryan, I'm glad you connect with the heart of this song. This one
practically wrote itself, which is rare experience for me. It seemed quite
right to reflect on David in this way, orienting our way forward by taking a
look back. There will be more of that theme to come, I have no doubt.
Say hi to the boys for me!

Stupid "submit comment" button. How embarrassing! I never do that.

How do you think I feel? &mdash 03/03/07 - 08:45:25 PM
I submitted a whole song twice because of that button. Hey, great production and I identified well with the lyrics; psalms and David have always fascinated me. There, most areas of philosophy, trouble, faith, and life are covered. The sound is truely professional.
