Description:
This song is about what everyone is looking for and wonders how they will know when they have found it. Lyrics speak for themselves .... and yes AGAIN I found myself drawn to one of Bad Smell's songs (23828) and threw my own interpretation on the music I was hearing.

Lyrics:
How will I recognize you
among the many souls
How long will I search for you
will I achieve my goals

I will look into your eyes
And hope that what I see
Will be myself reflected there
I hope that I see me

All the pain, the wonderful highs
and all the very lows
will be only too familiar
the facets of your life, the happiness, the woes

I’ll know when you’ve been crying
alone, afraid or hurt
for I will feel it too
my heart will be alert

I’ll know that I have found you
that I’ve known you all along
my eternal soulmate
with you I do belong

Captivating &mdash 09/09/06 - 11:42:46 PM
Nice groove on the guitar, with a sprinkle of Norwegian Wood/Dear
Prudence. Your vocals take it in a completely different direction. Reaches
in and touches the soul. Love the smokey take on the vocals.

Very 60s &mdash 09/10/06 - 12:02:17 AM
Has that psychedelic edge to it. I would still love to hear you do a song
without the vocal effects -- reverb, echo, etc. There's no reason to hide
your voice. Put it right out there and see what happens! However, I
understand their use in this song, as it was a certain sound and mood
you were going for. You certainly succeeded!

Thanks Peeps ! &mdash 09/10/06 - 12:07:24 AM
for the commentos ... I was doing some tunes where I was cutting way back on the reverb bit .... but I still tend to lean towards what I call the "Ethereal Sound" and can't keep my fat little fingers off that reverb function ......

Especially like . . . &mdash 09/11/06 - 09:31:22 AM
the directness of the words. Music is great like that, like(is) prayers to
God! Great therapy for human kind.

Thanks for sharing your wonderful voice, I appreciate the music as well.

Man... &mdash 09/11/06 - 11:54:37 AM
It was like you were having a conversation with the darkest part of your soul - And that the soul was actually talking to it's self - And that it was a catch 22, but only the soul knew that it was a part of the plan because it was more comfortable feeling the pain...

I'll bet everyone can relate to that and on some level...

You too have reached deeper than yourself to pull off this performance - Very well done Alannah - I liked BadSmell work on this too - I'm gonna have to check him/her out - Very nice work, indeed - Thanks - Dion

I notice the reply button is gone ... so I suppose one needs to answer en masse now .... thanks for the comments and compliments guys .... I am a HUGE FAN of Bad Smells' songs .. you will note that I have added my own brand of strangeness to about 4 I think of Bad Smells tunes ... I hear them and can't want to sing all over them. My inspiration for all the songs always come from the great music I hear posted as an instrumental by a fellow Macjammer first .... I will always make reference to the original song in my descriptions. Most of my lyrics are pretty much straight to the point ... I try to not make them too subjective .. although I understand that blunt lyric writing is not KEWL .. hahahahaha doesn't stop me .... nice to see Cyd back !

Psychedelic alright! &mdash 09/12/06 - 01:15:10 AM
I really enjoyed Bad Smells 2nd version of this track ( http://
www.macjams.com/song/24070 ), and I like what you've done with it
too Alannah. The psychedelic edge Joanna mentions is certainly there
- Grace Slick for sure. Direct lyrics work for me : )

Vocals &mdash 09/15/06 - 12:43:15 AM
Vocals are spot on.

We IMed a bit about this one. This is cjorgensen commenting from a
new account. I'll comment and earn my points to post from this
account.

Regardless, my comments still hold true.

You would be so much better served if you could figure out a way to
start your vocals well before the track, so you can disguise you in and
outs.

I also think you suffer from an inferior mic set up. The vocals suffer for
it.

The back track stuff doesn't come out as well as in the version you sent
me. Is it the same? They get lost this time.

I really like this. Must be frustrating to be confined to other people's
music. I think a break and continuation of the lyrics are in order, but
know that's not possible whit another's work.

Well done.

Like a hot summer &mdash 09/28/06 - 10:55:07 AM
afternoon - this feels like shimmering waves of heat coming off of a hot beach or sidewalk, fanning yourself while thinking of the one that you love most. I love it! Especially the interplay between the vox and backing vox - good to hear you, as always, Alannah! Love the guitar work - hadn't heard the other version, so this was a nice surprise!

Nice and easy... &mdash 10/07/06 - 06:58:13 PM
This has a lounge-act atmosphere to it, with all the reverb and ambient
soft rustling noise... a very pleasant live performance feel.

Alannah, you give a very restrained and somewhat poignant rendition of
this song... No belting out or reaching stratospheric notes... just easy
flowing and smooth voice.

It's a little repetitious in terms of melody, but it succeeds in conveying a
sombre and sad emotion.

The only reason &mdash 10/09/06 - 02:15:15 PM
there is NO belting out here Leon is that I have just not learned how to properly record such folly ! Thanks as usual for always giving my stuff a listen .. no matter how weird I get !

Rich and emotive &mdash 12/10/06 - 12:02:18 AM
Wow! Alannah, your vocal style along with the feel of this piece brings to mind a very Jim Morrison/Robert Plant-like feel. Your voice is rich and powerful, and you have nice control. I'll be checking some of your other stuff!

Thanks for the listen Rick .... &mdash 12/10/06 - 12:24:55 AM
... my "other" stuff ranges from weird to weirdo ....to even weirder still (some of it anyway) its a huge ecclectic mix of stylings I think .... depending on which artist's music I Sang all over ... there is truly some diversity from song to song .... hopefully I won't be judged if someone just listens to one or two of my tunes because they are all just SO different from each other ... well some of them are similar in style and genre ... but I like to experiment in all arenas ! In any event I would always recommend people also listen to the original instrumental ...
