This is very cool, thanks for weaving your wild magic on this! It is
intriguing to hear your faster IDMelectro-version of this, I like your choice
of wawah synths and echoey horns/guitars, gives it a retro-spacey feel.
Crisp mixing, nothing gets muddy, I like it! And you did a rather
substantial amount of editing-elongating to make this work at the faster
tempo, I noticed. Very unique version of Ember, definitely EccentriK!

thanks for the opportunity to play. this piece got me to work in a very quick,
different manner than i usually do. this piece fell together really all at once, the
moment i got a feel for what i would do-> whambam momentum.
i heard what the song sounded like at this speed after a couple of listens to the
original, and it perfectly colludes with a dark, dreamy, adventure somewhere in
this world, yet not at all. something like my life- then the electro bubbles just
surfaced.

I finally had a chance to comment on this... I have been without internet for almost two weeks!!! (We just moved back to Illinois)
Anyway, this is a snappy and well organized tune. The orchestra hits and other effects really gave it that Pet Shop Boys / Erasure feel. Overall, it contained a mysterious slinky sound that is more Eccentrik... and that is what made it more interesting to me. [ Reply to This ]

i think it interesting that you (and others) still here such a great pull of my
influences in this piece, though i felt myself going in quite the opposing
direction for this one. i guess we all turn into our parents whether we realize it
or not. and- where would you place this on the scale of 'organicness?' just about
every track is a patched softsynth (with exception of the modedout guitar part),
but i was really going for organic. like real instruments and tummy noises.
and thanks for picking up on my slink.
too bad you just moved, i'm actually going to be in ann arbor next week!

the second i got my hands on it, i knew it could be a great tranced out d n b
track- what a pleasure to hear it fall together when i put it to the metal.
one of the really great things about collaboration is when you really 'feel'
yourself in someone else's work. and that little guitar part you mentioned
really lives up to that- that's me; a mysterious little space cadet embarking on
his mysterious little mission.

This is great... I think you highlighted just the right stuff; everything has
just the right voice in this mix. It's a really coherent atmosphere between
the sections (although the guitar break bit is still my fav :), and nothing
spoils the mood. Nice pleasing presentation of the melody, with driving
enough drums to make you want to get up and dance. My kind of IDM!

I've listened to most of your stuff on MacJams, and rather than comment on all of them seperately I'd just like to say this is the best electronica I've heard in a long time, not just on here, but anywhere. All your sounds are like mini personalities with lives of their own. You are like the Bach of electronic music - everything clean and well placed but quirky and full of character. If a label doesn't snap you up, there's no justice in this stinky world. Have you tried submitting to a label or agent? Do it!! [ Reply to This ]
