Description:
Shortly after eating the "wild mushroom" omelet his wife made for him, Reginald suddenly felt "odd".
Soon he heard the grass talk to him, tasted the sunlight, caught a whiff of the color puce.
His head ached and the world spun as he stuggled with his new reality.
His body was discovered in Mrs. Muldowny's pickle patch early the next morning.
His wife never visits his grave.

to the pickle patch. i've always have been suspicious of cartoon pickles
with arms and legs. and why the gloves. i really got into all the different
parts and how you sequed into each. i enjoyed this immensly. now more
about that pickle patch...

Pickles indeed &mdash 09/17/06 - 09:26:43 AM
Maybe I was overly influenced by Myshkin's dancing pickle elswhere on
MacJams...or maybe it was the mushroom soup my wife cooked from scratch
for me last night.

I expect da singer to sing something like misty mountain hop? dig that 70's rock feel to it

70's sound not surprising &mdash 09/17/06 - 09:32:29 AM
I lived through the sixties and the seventies and I remember SOME of it.
Maybe that is why the music of that time still influences some of my modest
compositions. I am just thankful that it is the rock music that influences me
rather than artists like Barry Manilow! I don't know If I could live with myself If
my songs sounded too much like his music. <G>

Very nice one &mdash 09/17/06 - 04:44:55 AM
Poor Reginald... but at least he inspired you to write this great song (if that can be e relief:-). Very haunting rythm and melody and productionwise top-notch.

Consider this .... the way he passed away may have been the highlight of his
life!

and very cool at the same time..
Wow what and imagination you have. Killer guitar work to. I love the solid rock drum groove and the little story in the description.
Great job 10's here.

Too generous &mdash 09/17/06 - 12:22:12 PM
Thanks for the comment and as always thanks for listening. It is nice to know
that others enjoy the songs I put together. I know I like them but then
(almost) every parent loves their own children.

good rock beat, you are getting back to your youthful roots or is it all that mushroom residue/flash backs take over come us all. good production / mix, I do want to ask you for some pointers, your songs are always professional sounding, just the way I want to be

Thanks, as always &mdash 09/18/06 - 08:51:27 AM
I just have a lot of fun with garage band and it is for me the ultimate
evening's entertainment to come up with a new song.
As to any tricks I might use to create the overall mix, I really don't do
anything special. I watch my levels and try to create a mix where you can
"listen" to any instrument if you change your perception. I use very little EQ as
a rule except on the drums and on the drums I can play with EQ for hours
some times. I like to use the multiband compressor on the whole mix usually
in the analog setting. In general I use very little compression...just enough to
fatten the sound a bit. That control is also a good place to add a touch of EQ
if needed. Ask me anything.

Enjoyed both the description and the song. Cool guitar riffs and nice
surprises all through it. RIP Reggie.

I had fun with this song and the story and I am really happy that you enjoyed
both. I am always amazed that people stop by my songs and take the time to
comment. What a great web site macjams is.

Wheee! &mdash 09/23/06 - 01:57:36 PM
Great description. I like the idea of story-songs a bunch, and you do a
good job of putting that idea into action. Thanks.

Re: story songs &mdash 09/23/06 - 05:18:55 PM
I like the idea of a little story that helps set the tone of the song and establish
a mood for the listener. At times I think my little stories would be the type
people submit to the Bulwer-Lytton bad writing contest (you know the one ...
named after the guy who started his story with the words "it was a dark and
stormy night").

thanks for stopping by
