Description:
An acoustic little piece that came along one late evening...

I guess it's about what everyone should say to one self looking in the mirror. To stand up with confidence, not letting any negative focus get in the way...

Lyrics:
A good man

Oh I'm a good man
I wouldn't hurt no one - no one
maybe desert someone - someone unkind

I have a love - for life
And I will crave from it - every day
Nothing much
Just to feel alive

Getting on with what comes next
Is Gods gift to me
Feeling strong - by making it
By making it - day by day

And if it all gets too loud
If my footsteps sounds weak
I'll take a deep breath
and remember who I am

See with my eyes closed
Feel with my mind free
Sense that this is my time

really like &mdash 09/16/06 - 10:29:31 PM
your style of words. You have a very nice way of putting down lyrics. I
think that is a key element in your style. Nice musical surroundings.
Thanks for the wisdom in song!

more intimate &mdash 09/17/06 - 05:32:27 AM
Nice personal lyrics Thor - nice and laid back - some beautiful bass
work. This seems a more intimate one than usual - like the timing
changes and the whole thing really. Excellent as usual.

Words of truth &mdash 09/17/06 - 09:32:34 AM
This is a song about a great guy we have come to know in you! It's not boasting - It's that which you have cultivated in those around you. I would like to think I could sing this song myself, I don't know that I can measure up to the significance, but like to imagine I am well liked amoung my friends for some of these reasons...

You are very kind Harold. Thank you. I think we all should tell ourselfs good things from time to time. Not self-praise about how good you are over other people, but to get a feeling of mastering our days. Especially the not so easy ones of course.

That you are... &mdash 09/17/06 - 03:59:10 PM
a good man, writer and musician too. Great textures on the guitar, really
sweet playing. Simple yet powerful message in the words, beautifully
sung.

bluesey soul &mdash 09/17/06 - 04:23:26 PM
This has a real western feel too it. The progression is interesting. The
acoustics balanced with the harp are fabulous. Great vocals to top it all
off. This is special. Well done.

nice, honest tuneage... &mdash 09/17/06 - 07:50:33 PM
...Thor. I like this one a lot. The chord progression is lovely. And your
vocal delivery of those sublime lyrics....mmmmn. So real. You've nailed
the proverbial(?) existential moment my friend. I too, have been a bit
introspective of late. Thanks for the uplift!

Be well!

Nicely done, thoddi. Just a really fine song as per usual. And, yes, your soulfully lyrics express a guy that I have come to know in spirit through your songs and email... and along with a number of others here would hpe one day to meet. Probably won't, I know. But you are high on my list as an artist and a person.
And, by the way, the guitar and harp are dancing together very nicely here.

Great stuff &mdash 09/23/06 - 03:57:56 PM
I like this one. I do think that your vocals are leaning to an influence too
much though. Your voice doesnt seem 100% your own for some reason.
But it is still there somewhat. Its by far no way a bad thing but for yourself
I think you have something more individual to find. This is one of the best
this week though! Bravo!

sweet song &mdash 09/25/06 - 10:13:49 AM
(been out of the loop a bit, old friend, forgive me)

Such a great message in this song. I love your harmonies. I like the
simplicity. It totally works for me. Day by day. I particularly like the
beat after the chorus, though I don't know what it's called. Nice song,
good work, thoddi.

Hoping you're well...
