Lyrics .. yes - I have some, not much enough for 1 chorus and a verse .. but I'll wait until I have more to record the vocals - I do like the part I have for the versey bit .. I kind-of liked this version - it made me think of: a guy comes in, does solo, goes to loo for a number 2 and the bergers off .. whistling as he goes. Maybe I shouldn't analyse my own stuff too much ..hmm Thanks for the offer all the same and the comment, vote. Whistle while you rock.... Very catchy tune. Love the nice, crunchy Les Paul (god I love the sound of the Les Paul). The whistling and the piano parts are nice touches. They make a good contrast with the guitar. Hope you're able to come up with the rest of the lyrics and get to finish this one. Check out my latest song called Bourbon Street Dawn

Thanks Joseph .. yes, I do like the Les Paul .. but I wouldn't mind having a old Fender Strat or Telecaster too. My Les Paul was 2nd hand when I got it - and a bargain at half price (just a bit damaged on the paintwork on the back) - it did badly need new pick-ups, the old coils had lost alot of magnetism. I tried several other Les Pauls with various new Gibson pick-ups but when I tried an ESP 'Les Paul' style guitar with EMG pickups I was in love. My shop tested noticed a clear 2s longer sustain from the active pickups than new Gibson static ones. Money well spent lol. Don't you use a Epiphone Les Paul Custom or? .. Great sound! Nice blend of humor and production. Is it me or is the bass & kick a bit light? Something tells me I'd add a bit of overall warmth to the EQ but don't quote me on that. Thanks Tanya .. I'm still really working on getting decent starting off presets for recording the instruments I have or can borrow. I think my production is getting better .. few more instruments to get to grips with .. then I'll focus on mastering and EQing. Then, I'll drop GB v3 and stick everything in Logic Pro and try mastering there instead lol. Thanks alot John very glad you liked it. I'll keep working on it, vocals, bass on a section I missed completely (doh) and have a think about more keyboards or bringing up some of what I have buried a bit too much. (I wanted to focus on the guitar sound, since I had new pickups) - it's only 2 guitar tracks: 1 rhythm, 1 solo and I didn't change anything in the EQ for the drums or guitar sound used for the solo. More whistling in Rock! Awesome production - the drums and geetars sound massive. Just the thing for driving down a big highway with the wind in your hair and a whistle on your lips. Fantastic guitar work - this track is nuts - the little keyboard riff shouldn't work with the rock backing, but it does a treat. Really cheered me up - thanks man. Thank-you very much for the nice compliment. I do try to do something a bit different but mostly in a traditional way. I think something you glean from access to many different synth sounds is more of an appreciation of some other non-electronic sounds that can be blended/work together in surprisingly pleasing ways. This melody is ancient history, I wrote the pattern and whistling melody when I was about 16 - the solo I invented much later. Thanks again. Check out my latest song called Misplaced

... thanks David .. I know people might think: he's whistling 'cos he can't think up some words etc .. but this is not entirely true .. when I came up with this, it was pretty early days for my song-writing and I tried whistling along while I played to sometimes help find vocal melodies - in this case what I came up with I liked as a whistle part .. and hence-forth stopped doing that, for fear of always liking the whistling lol. The vocal melody does follow the whistle melody (at the chorus) but the whistling shall remain as a feature of this song, as it strangely just "works" with the other voices. The verse melody is supported by the keyboards and guitar a bit. I'll need to come back and re-visit this one... and write more lyrics. Check out my latest song called Misplaced

Thanks I've noticed a few of us. You should check out Slotogenic's posts. He's very good IMO and also has incorporated a bit of whistling too. It's a mad idea, therefore I quite like it - I'm always up for a bit of whistling, er .. just whistle, I'll be there. :o) Now, if you were to add a dog-whistle to it at key points, so MJ dog owners pooches bark at key points, then I think we're off the ground. An animal interactive participation song, with human whistling ensemble. We need a crack two finger in mouth, sheep-dog trial hired gun whistler too. Check out my latest song called Misplaced
