Same Waltz but only with piano (3 hands!) and guitar. Sounds romantic and sad. Like it more without the orchestra. Thank you for all your helpful hints and suggestions.

Hmm... as much as I liked the ideas you were working on with the other
instruments, so far I think I do like this piece better as a simple
unadorned piano piece. The melody has the charm of a music-box
melody, and your three hands play it so nicely (smirk). Oh, don't forget to
update your song title here, you left out the word "Rain".

Oh, and I'm curious where the pretty photo was taken... it looks very
European, not California!

your comments have helped me with my arrangements. I think is great that in
spite my neophyte performances and arrangements this group does nothing but
encourage and help improve music. And life would really stink without music!
Thanks

Minimal sounds good &mdash 09/18/06 - 08:22:44 AM
How come my Clavinova a doesn't sound this good?? : )
Nice piece, nicely played. Where is that photo taken - it looks familiar?

Hi jiguma &mdash 09/18/06 - 11:43:14 AM
You have a clavinova too? Man, I am dying for a Synclavier but it will have to
wait! I looked at your Bio and you have enough instruments for an orchestra. I
played only piano/Keyboard and would love to learn guitar but between work
and learning French, (and learning GB) there is not a whole lot of time left.
The picture was taken in Avignon, City of the Popes in France, during a
wonderful drive from Lyon to Barcelona.

Thought so! &mdash 09/18/06 - 07:03:21 PM
No surprise when you say Avignon. My wife and I have spent a lot of time
travelling in France (and Germany), and love the area around Avignon -
mainly to the north east. Jan's a french and german teacher. The piece has a
European feel for sure.
The Clavinova is my daughter's - we're just minding it for her (so far for 7
years) and I hardly ever play it as it's in a different room to my "studio". I
really wish I'd learnt piano when I was young - I'm just a tinkerer on most
instruments I have. Just a bass player really.

This almost reminds me of a small &mdash 09/18/06 - 06:17:59 PM
cafe somehere is a small street in Paris etc

Where there are a small group of musicians serenading a couple in love.

Classical music can be so precious and your bringing out that feeling in
this tune!

Thanks much for sharing!
