Description:
Johannes Curry (Cori Ander) posted this amazing track while back and I asked if I could try to add some strings and piano.

He graciously agreed and this is the result.
Thanks to Johannes for the opportunity and suggestions regarding mix.

A word from Cori Ander:
It was a nice surprize when John first arrived with a rendition of this. He had really added very nice things to it. Since then it has been a great and (for me;) easy collab, where I have given comments and viewpoints and John has delivered new versions ... new viewpoints, new versions, and so on for a number of loops. I am impressed that John never showed a sign of loosing patience. Thank you John, I really dig the result and am proud of having been part of it.

Stunning - Both of you - Almost took my breath away - This was so
intnensly good - I guess that would make this somewhere near grand
artistry, I'm thinking... - Thanks! Dion

Whoa! &mdash 09/18/06 - 02:50:26 PM
What an intro!! Gourgeous, guitar and piano harmonic sounds... right
into that uptempo part.... so good. The strings are also a great
addition... beefing up the sound.
I guess when I have that garden party that I invited Curry to, you will
have to come along also, Karmatoburn! That would be a live
performance worth attending.
cheers...

Isn't it just great! &mdash 09/18/06 - 04:48:24 PM
Macjams gives musicians the opportunity to collaborate... how difficult it would be without this luxury to have two great musicians fall into place like this. Well done to the two of you... Curry on the original and John on those ivories... I'm quite impressed. In early parts it was difficult to decipher piano from guitar they were in such unison. Thanks for sharing.

Sheer class! &mdash 09/18/06 - 06:42:10 PM
Good to see someone has come through with the goods on a colab on
one of your songs Curry : ) This is a very beautiful interpretation of
your original (which was really crying out for this treatment despite its
own innate beauty). Did I mention before the Stephen Stills aspect of
your playing? It would be great to hear you letting loose like this more
often.
Sorry to leave you out so far John - you've done a very subtle, yet very
pleasing and pro-sounding, job on this lovely song.
I still think it could get lifted even further with a vocal or maybe even a
rhythm section -maybe someone will turn up with one or both some
day.
Sheer class!

Stephen Stills &mdash 09/19/06 - 12:00:16 PM
You're probably so right Neil.
Stephen Stills was an idol for me in youth. That is; long ago.
Today I'm not aware of musical roots. Just playing like Curry.
But of course this curry, knowingly or not, still carry flavors of its constituent
spices. And if there are traces of mister Stills, that is a compliment even today.
He's some guitar player.

All the good comments are taken! &mdash 09/18/06 - 08:51:11 PM
Ya gotta be quick around here...

This has me stunned, slack-jawed and amazed. This is great, great,
great.

Jiguma's right, Johannes, you can REALLY hear some of the Stillsian
influence on your attack on this one... But also lovely, lilting, non-blues
phrases that sweeten it up, too..

And John, man, you did a great job with this, unobtrusive enough to
serve the song, but skillful and imaginative enough to ornament,
support and enhance it... Love some of those low tones...

Ed

Glad you like it &mdash 09/19/06 - 01:26:52 PM
Glad you like it that much Ed! (and concerning the Stillsian influence, see reply

John, Ziti is correct - you are one of the site's best minds. That's not been
a secret here, but if it were, it's out now.

I hope you are very pleased with how this turned out. Your influence on
the gem Johannes composed is so beautifully artistic, and frames Cori's
playing in an entirely luscious way... Your ideas and their execution were
first class.

Congratulations on this wonderful piece of music.

Futz, you and the Zetes are way generous in your praise. I appreciate you
taking the time to listen and comment. I love the collab thing here. Its
allowed me to be part of something larger and push my own skills in new
directions.

Listened to latest composition "Final Moment" many times this evening and
its stellar. I still think your hiding that full orchestra in your studio.

and went on to something else. Am I ever glad I came back and took

And the piano and strings are muted and compliment the guitar perfectly.
