Now THAT was COOL
I was wondering where you'd been hidding as well sir - But then, I just
realized, I might need to do a tune to hear from you.

This was a fairly cinematic piece you've put together - I have no idea
how you do things, but I really liked the string and synth thing at the
begining - Also, I liked the piano parts - Actually, there's lots of synth
action goin on here - Did you play the gtar and is that a synth module
or whatever -

Okay, stupid question time, Data... - What instrument do you play???
Serisously - I had some preconceived thoughts about how you put
things together, but I doubt that you could have done this if I were
correct in my thinking - I thought that you kinda spun things off of
LPS; sampled and then w/ a bit of slicing and dicing; voila - This seems
a bit too complex for that - Please tell me it's not so - Well done -
Thanks for this - Dion

hey thank you Dion!
okay - for once, I did not use any magical weapon or scissors or LPs cuts. all the synthetic and piano parts were done with my midi keyboard, the violins and guits are some kind of loops, I used a modified loop for the drums, plus some extra beats created with reason's redrum. I wanted first to make a 100% loop-free track but then, I found this very cool violins bits which by chance fit so nice in the mix. same thing for the guitar. I know this is quite sad, a solo-like guitar loopo but well, I can't play guitar!

I used to learn classical piano for years when I was a kid, I then switched to bass, I still own a very nice Aria but couldn't use it in my mix yet. this is actually my next step : live bass in the mix. rock on. I will buy new gears very soon, hopefully.

thanks for your support Dion, I really appreciate :-)

I
quite agree with you, I'm not a big fan of electric solos in electro mixtures neither. but for some reason, I did it :-)
thanks for your time listening.

Nice balance
This one has a nice balance of the groove and the 'anti-aesthetic'
dissonant stuff. Sounds like the techno that Tom Waits would have made
if he was born in the '70s and grew up in the eighties. Nice and trippy!
Rock on, datafunk!

really hits stride
around the half way point. normally its hard to coax such wailing tones
from a synth, but you've done a great job capturing the essence of the
jammin lead player. dem drums is funky. the tune has lots of twists
and turns with some extrodinairly little gems of jams tucked in.

great -- something
ha! the intro did not hint to me at where i was going to be led. but it
actually did - i just didn't understand...

this has great --- something. chords? groove? sounds? gatsby? burning
electrical smell? electric violin? cat-sense? burrowing bounders?
mysterious eyes? god! changes.

ah: got it: cowbell.

What
a movie this would be. I can see a music video and people funking
around, bopping their heads while washing their cars, shopping, etc. Very
funkadelic!

You slay me...
This stuff kills me... I wish I could break out of my linear approach to
music and step outside of the box. This is definately a Fav. I dig the
sounds and arragements.

I'm inspired...
Thank you Dfunk.

WOOOOOOOOOOWWWW.....
I hit play right after a nice gentle listen to Tatin's piece, 'Soledad'...AND
DOESN'T THIS JUST FILL THE HEADPHONES, EH?!?!?!

Not yer typical technoid synth wash... I love the screaming electric
guitar stuff that's probably all MID, isn't it? Go ahead, break my heart...
And I have to say that, not being a techno-electro kinda dude, when I
DO listen in this realm, as I seem to be doing more and more, I really
appreciate synth-based musicians who have some range to the
timbres, tones, and attacks of their sounds... This covers a lot of
ground, but musically, without sounding like it's trying to cover a lot of
ground...

Very imaginative. And good title.
