Description
The curve rises ever upward whether you are aware or not. What is life but the battle against the chaotic inertia of the universe? Bring those big questing guns and remake the entropy into a bright shiny future. Shine on you strange attractor.

after reading
the description you did not dissapoint. this is worthy of the text and
picture. a wonderful hipnotic journey to a better place. especially like
the vocal element. sounded like great effort was put into exacting
those harmonies. the trippy jams that erupt here and there are part of
the facinating journey. the miminal-ish ending is great

Thank you so much for that. I never know what to say when some nails me like
this but I truly appreciate your kind words. I have this feeling that music has
fragmented so much that unless we try to change the perceptions of what
constitutes a song we're simply rehashing. True musical ability (your good self)
aside we're all fumblers really. But you can often fumble in a more challenging
way if you keep your radar up and your bullshit detectors on max. This will not
rock everyones world but if a few people get it then I'm a happy macjammer.

Cheers

nice tune!
the vocals are absolutely first rate!

the xylophone/bells are perfect too.

it left me wanting more... (but perhaps that was your point?)

(effected drums in there? it's OK, i like that loop)

Smoked
Cheers Bill. I love bells and xylophonications of any kind. BTW the birdsong you
heard was recorded outside my studio window and it's sweetest trill just
happened to fall in the right place. As for wanting more I have always subscribed
to the notion that less is more and space rules. I'm not a good enough musician
to wow with virtuosity like CC and Uncle Tobin but to know your limits and play
to your strengths strikes me as everything this site is about. As for the drums... I
never was a purist as far a loops are concerned. I just use them as sparingly as
possible and only on rhythm tracks. They were perfect for the moment.

Take care!

Convinced
Cheers Vince, A piece like this is ALL about mood and I'm so glad I put you in a
good one. My production values are a little raggedy to be honest. I don't tend to
quantize or fiddle to much with what I've played cause I think like subtle plastic
surgery it shows. Without wanting to sound too pretentious what I'm trying to
achieve is organic oddness. Have I succeeded?

scratch_harris said 1162 days ago (September 20th, 2006)
Funked
I think that should be a new music form..euh...enviromentally unhinged
harmonics. A song it ain't!!

Salut!

really nice
i'm loving this. the music and the vocals are perfect. the bells are a nice touch with the big vocal part. what is the fuss about the drums? they fit the song and sound good.

i like the jazz feel that you have in your music. reminiscent of four tet, but only in theory. in practice you are completely different animals.
