Description:
A collab with esimmens08. This marked the beginning of a beautiful relationship. We have been working on songs ever since.

Does my voice fit this downtempo trip hop style?

Lyrics:
Love is
Love is

Pomp and Circumstance trace your footsteps
Your mind is free from care.
While I lay here in your shadow
No one notices me there.

Love is
Love is
Love is poison

I deeply feel this
this disconnection.

I've always believed that independence is key.
So when I turn around don't you follow me.

I deeply this disconnection
making me reconsider my choices and selections
If I choose to follow you
Am i giving up a self that I'll never learn to know?

nice Song &mdash 09/24/06 - 02:39:08 PM
Sort of reminds me Of the band Garbage but without the pretense, good
job on production and the vocals are excellent!

it fits &mdash 09/24/06 - 02:42:48 PM
ooh yes, your voice fits for sure. Moreover, your voice is such an added value to this song, and the vocal harmonies are splendid. This song has such a natural flow in it. A perfect production as well. Wonderful collab guys.

gracias :-) &mdash 09/24/06 - 02:56:43 PM
Thank you so much! It's always nice to know that what you add to a work of art
is WORTHY! Eddie's songs are wonderful, and I always find it challenging to add
to his work but bring in my own originality. Maybe that's how new genres are
born! Hmmmm.

New Bond theme? &mdash 09/24/06 - 02:51:03 PM
I loved the first seconds of this, and it just got better. It has a real
sense of drama - reminds me of the theme to a Bond movie ( you
know, a Connery, not a Roger Moore).
You're voice sounds great, and the harmonies are really well put
together. Lovely crisp production - the drifting bells sound wonderful.
This is one of the best tracks I've heard here in a while, which is saying
something - it sounds CD ready. Only quibble is that the chorus, for
me , needs a little more impact to make it a little stronger.

Great work - look forward to hearing more from you.

Echo thank you for the honest feedback. Being new to this whole la dee da
singing thing, I have yet to learn how to make a good chorus (and write too!).
How do you do that ya know? Buy a dummy book!?!??! Ha ha. Thank you again
for the advice and I agree!

HEY SWEETY! &mdash 09/24/06 - 04:14:57 PM
Nice killa tune! Great second upload! A good rule of thumb is to double your vocals expecially for the chorus which it sounds like you did in certian places. It sounds also like the vocals could use a little more euphoric effects to match the back ground. Just a minor thing and it may be personal preference. Sounds awesome! Glad your getting such a wonderful reception over here at ham slams!

nice job you two! &mdash 09/24/06 - 04:50:57 PM
Intriguing tune and singing. Although the constant "ringing" of the one
tone in the song was a little distracting, the rest of it was great. Your
main vox track could have been brought *up* very slightly, and given a
teeeny bit more room reverb. But that's all the critiquey stuff I can come
up with. The lyrics are really nice, and the singing and harmony was
tasty... for some reason, reminds me a little of Poe (what a singer *she*
is!) Great track! Welcome to Macjams, thank you for gracing us with your
talent!

great tune &mdash 09/24/06 - 05:40:24 PM
Loved the trance like vibe. Very trippy. Your vocal is outstanding, and
the backing tracks are right in the pocket. Very professional sounding.
Awesome collab

Cool groove &mdash 09/25/06 - 10:20:02 PM
I love the groove and the line, Love is poison. I enjoyed the melodies. Your vocal quality is very soothing in a sexy way. I just wanted some chord or key changes to take the song to a few other levels. Great melodies all over the place though.

Tasty poison &mdash 09/27/06 - 06:24:28 PM
I like the dichotomy of the anguish in the lyrics with the lithesome vocals.
The music and your voice all blend together perfectly. Nice job.

Popular progression &mdash 10/20/06 - 10:49:53 PM
used successfully by many artists. Led Zeppelin's "Babe I'm Gonna Leave
You", Chicago's "25 or 6 to 4" and most recently Green Day's "Brain Stew".
This song differentiates substantially. Vocals are great as usual nicely
layered and fit the groove well. Thanks for sharing.

reminds &mdash 01/08/07 - 11:09:54 PM
me of Massive Attack. Nice. Theres something making a falt popping sound like a phonograph record in the first part and middle of the song where its the most notable. It seems to vanish after that.
