Description:
Last weeks have been quite busy for me since school started again. I hadn't exactly made it easier for me seeing as I chose the hardest course in my school (possibly the whole of Iceland). I realized, however, that I had made a mistake in my choice. I have now corrected that mistake and will begin the new course on monday.
This track depicts this new beginning, hopefully of more relaxed times.
Enjoy.

Yes, soothing &mdash 09/24/06 - 03:47:25 PM
The pulsing rhythm is like cross country skiing through a grand frozen wilderness. Those chime tones are great, and they set the context for all of the other sounds, which float by perfectly. Really nice. Excellent writing and production as always, Einar!

Nice one dude! I always dig your stuff! 6 feet that is! Very moody and it made my dog spew so you must have done something right! He's very intuned to your tunes! Ruff! He said hello! Hahah!

Those bells are soooo exquisite! Everything moves so well. Conveys the
idea perfectly.

stirring &mdash 09/24/06 - 04:44:11 PM
Love the strong chuffing inertial pace, and the typical strong harmonies of
yours... has an almost Enya-esque feel to it, I half-expected a grand
chorus to break out over this... maybe I can wish really hard and some
nice singer or three will make that happen for you :-) Very nice piece, sir,
and I look forward to hearing that your stress-level has dropped back
down to reasonable levels!
ttfn,
Drakonis

Love the way it builds &mdash 09/24/06 - 07:00:35 PM
This tune lifts you by the arms and carries you away. Very inspiring
music. I really like the ending too as it settles you down again with those
bells. Kudos. Good luck at school.

Synth playing and textures. You have achieved a majestic sound with
chords that soothe and relax the soul. Great progressive composition.

Daybreak of Iceland. &mdash 09/25/06 - 08:17:13 AM
I pray that a new selection bring you happiness.
The grain of the atmosphere in air as usual.
The note dances in the sky.

Sunrise &mdash 09/25/06 - 12:20:37 PM
Although I always enjoy your music and never skipped a post, I have to say that with every new post I'm more and more impressed by your intuitive sense for beautiful and inspiring music. To have the pulsing synth stay on one note for most of the time is a great idea and gives this track its majesty and weight (check out Philip Glass's Anthem Part 2, has a similar feel). I could have imagined the drums to have a little bit slower build-up, but the snare drum with the tambourine is just perfect for this song. And with the contrasting and charming "glockenspiel" theme is you've created yet another striking piece of music.

Georgous &mdash 09/25/06 - 12:59:27 PM
This is lovely, simple melody that arches out across the sky as it develops,
to fill the entire horizon. Mike Oldfield comes to mind in a respectful way,
I like the determined build up, the sense of release. Fabbywabby.

Real nice &mdash 09/25/06 - 01:35:55 PM
A song befitting a fresh new day on this wonderful planet. You nailed
the awe and majesty, my friend. Bless you.

Beautiful &mdash 09/25/06 - 01:57:45 PM

this could be the next "Chariots of Fire" - it is nothing short of
exquisite. It would be a crying shame if it didn't get used in a major
film.

Adventurous &mdash 09/25/06 - 02:48:40 PM
If you wanted me to think I was watching the adventures of space on
IMAX you have succeeded. This is really rich. You've struck gold.

love the bassy breathing theme &mdash 09/25/06 - 07:44:59 PM
it sets a nice pace for all the other sections.
To me you really have innovative stuff in a grand new age mode.

Like the fade with fewer and fewer instruments down to one. Very nice!
The whole piece is sweet with a fine not too percussive beat.
You music is really some of my favorite here!

Way to go E!

Very uplifting &mdash 09/27/06 - 03:29:02 PM
I love the way the nice, simple melody is put in contrast with the lush
backing arrangment. Gives a very nice feel of hope and anticipation.
Enjoyed it very much.

I love the break into the section with drums. Calm, progressive, and inspirational as well. Nice clean bell sounds.

...this works for me perfectly. Very fine harmonies and a chime melody
that lingers on my head. What a wonderful competence you have, Einar.

Ahhhhhh...... &mdash 09/28/06 - 07:31:16 PM
Oh yeah...I can hear a chorus of voices to this, though it's absoutely
gorgeous on it's own...

Maybe it's just that I wanna sing when I listen to it ;)

Lovely, lovely....

Thank you :)

Over the Hill &mdash 09/29/06 - 11:36:17 AM
In english, over the hill is a saying that means "too old" or "can't really
perform any more" this is obviously not what you mean here... this is
about what is over the horizon... it speaks of possibilties, "what's
around the corner" and you are certainly not "Over the Hill" you are on
the journey up

great work

This is just SO great &mdash 09/30/06 - 07:32:02 AM
My heart really aches when hearing stuff like this! Most has already been
said above, I must just "correct" Drakonis above - to compare this with
Enya is almost an insult, this is so much better!!! No, it is more of one of
my greatest musical heroes, Vangelis! That would be a match at least, but
even he is not a certain win. This is a sure 10-10-10-10 if ever I heard
one!
I only hope your new course is in music. Not that any course could make
you better, but that it would enable you to relax and post some of this
beautiful stuff! Thanks!!!

This is another one... &mdash 10/01/06 - 01:59:24 PM
...where I didn't get a notification. My apologies, Einarus, that I didn't
notice it until today...

The long opening section, setting the low bass pulse against the chime
tones, is gorgeous, and the the dramatic step-up after is just enough
without sounding tacky...

The thing about you, Einarus, and your music, is that you have a rare
combination of musical imagination and really, really good taste... You
know how to be spare and simple and still original...

It is, of course, completely unfair that you have these qualities at such
a young and tender age...

Lovely ending...

Ed

Waves and Lave &mdash 11/13/06 - 02:33:59 PM
I love how it firsts starts out with everything slowly coming out like lava trickling down a mountain, then waves of sound keep pulsing. Great.

This song.. &mdash 11/30/06 - 11:16:00 PM

contrasts &mdash 01/16/07 - 11:08:58 PM
the grand scale of big booming bottom, delicate bell voice, and strings galore bring about a richness of sonic scenery that is both satisfyfing and appreciated. nice mood! anne

My other secret crush... &mdash 04/11/07 - 03:17:53 PM
...besides prog-rock, is New Age music. And this one just put chills up my spine. Something about these changes really gets me, especially with the slowly growing soundbed leading up to the introduction of the percussion. Perfectly paced, like a sunrise.

Something special &mdash 06/10/07 - 07:08:28 AM
I love the dark ambience here ... the low synths and tinkling bell-piano are a delicious combination and strike some gorgeous harmonies along the way. Despite the dark ambience it has a wonderfully uplifting quality and really evolves into a big powerful sound by the end. Beautifully put together.
